I love how the media always says seal team 6, like the other teams are never Involved. Isn’t 6 more hostage rescue based? Maybe it was 6, idk, but you literally never hear someone say “seal team 2”
Team 6 is the catch-all team responsible for counter-terrorism and high risk special ops such as this. The other teams are specifically tasked with, and train for, special ops in specific geographic areas. Look up the Wikipedia article on the teams. It lays out where each operates.

Remember when that French General scoffed at the idea of building an air strip inside Iran?

The airman, identified by President Donald Trump as a colonel and Weapons Systems Officer (WSO), was the second crew member recovered from an F-15E Strike Eagle that was shot down on Friday, April 3. While the pilot was rescued shortly after the crash, the colonel remained behind enemy lines for nearly two days.
The airman survived by hiding in a mountain crevice on a remote ridge in southwestern Iran's Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. He utilized his SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training to evade Iranian ground recovery teams, at one point scaling rugged terrain to a 7,000-foot ridgeline.
He was reportedly equipped with only a pistol, a communication device, and a tracking beacon, which he activated to signal his location to U.S. force. Though he sustained injuries during the ordeal, he is expected to recover.

Team 6 is a special "tier 1" unit. It is the only tier 1 unit in the Navy. So, yes, they are different from Seal Team 1, 2, 3 (etc). Seal Team 6 only takes other SEALs in for training and a fairly high rate of them fail the training (or quit). Within the SEALs, Team 6 is called "Green Team." They are different from "regular" SEALs because they focus on hostage rescue, snatching high-value targets and other "special missions." The other SEAL teams are "standard" battlefield commandos.
The other tier 1 (ground unit) is the Army's Delta Force. The difference with Delta is they take people from all branches, but most of the candidates are other Spec Ops guys (Green Berets, Rangers, Force Recon Marines, etc.). Only about 10% pass Delta training in an average year.
The military calls these tier-1 units "special mission units."

I’m familiar. Team 3 is apparently Middle East.
This isn’t that specific of a mission, it’s not something they trained for or were planning.
It’s more likely it was whatever team was in theater as this happened over a couple of hours. Maybe members of team 6 were there for something, maybe it was members of team 3 that were also part of team 6, idk.
Most other people were saying this was army delta. Maybe it was a combination of all 3.
My only point is the media thinks it’s always team 6

True the media does think like this.
Let's not forget Biden called them out. Many, not even special ops in the military and families removed social media.
IIRC because of Bidens mouth the wives of ST6 were named and they had to relocate with small children from their homes.
The Eddie Gallagher story should be watched on the SRS. The politics ran deep within, even with new woke PC Navy SEALs.

I’m just saying there’s like 8,000 Seals and something like 500 of them are team 6. None of the other teams ever get any love.
The media simply saying “navy, Air Force, and army special forces” would be adequate and correct

Pretty bad arse how you can just drop into enemy territory and pick a dude up in the middle of nowhere without anyone knowing. Now tell me how fast that bitch get downed if Iran tried that on US territory.
