inducted at Camp Avondale in the late 60's.

I went to Avondale 2 summers in the mid-70’s. My best friend was asked to join OA, I wasn’t. They never said what the criteria was but the kid’s dad was the one who always drive the troop everywhere in his station wagon and camped with us at places like Avondale.

From what I remember, they gave him an orange and a knife and sent him out to spend the night in the woods. He might have even had to wear a loincloth.

Those were great times.

Brotherhood and Cheerful Service. New Orleans Council in the 70s, we built all kind of shite at Salmen.

Come to think of it, we worked like slaves, was racist I guess.

Don't let the Southern Poverty Law center hear about this you will be designated a hate group unless of course the Arrow supports Antifa and BLM.

Camp Indian Valley.... wow. I spent a lot of time there and fished that lake a lot as a kid in scouts. Loved that place.

Does it still exist?

Brotherhood Member and Eagle Scout.

I left Scouting about my junior year in high school in the mid '90's after our rural council was swallowed up by a big city council. Scouting, locally and nationally, has pretty much gone to shite since then.
