We are damn near 40 trillion dollars in the hole! We are selling our grandchildren down the river so that twats like yourself can tell us how ignorant or jealous we are. If whatever service you performed had any value, go out and get a job in the real world, you'll be just fine. If not, frick you for fleecing the American taxpayer for however long you've been our employee.
And that’ll be fixed when those corporate tax cuts are made permanent, right?

I know a ton of government employees and contractors

Nowhere in your CBS News link did I see where any nuclear physicists were fired like you inferred. The people who were fired (then rehired) simply managed our nuclear stockpile and were probationary employees who'd been working there less than one year.

I love the rationale that someone who has few posts is somehow inferior in their argument compared to a troglodyte that spends the entire day posting.
It’s almost as if you were a …. Horrible government employee

My daughter had a friend at LSU whose dad was in the FBI. I got drunk at a football game and called him G-Man all day.
That's all I've got.
That's all I've got.

My word, yall are so obtuse. They are literally decimating all regulation. How can you not see what is happening? The filthy rich are just going to get even more so. You and me and all the baws are not going to benefit. AI is going to completely decimate society at the hand of Elon and bros. When talk of UBI begins on the left, Fox News will tell you it’s a communist plot. You will be vehemently against it all the way to tent cities.
Aaaaand …..then the crazy comes out.

Deflect, then blame rich people. You're a stereotype of a leftist.

quote:I did clinicals at all of the hospitals in the Birmingham metro area. The VA was the one that shocked me the most. Those people did the bare minimum. Fast forward to just 6 months ago. Had a coworker that should have been fired a long time ago. Lazy, called out so much that I never saw her WORK a 40 hour week. She either wouldn't come in, or had some "emergency" where she had to leave. Horrible at her job when she was there. She quit before she could be let go, to take a job at the VA. She will fit in perfect there. Probably will retire from that job. (BTW, she's not a veteran)
Brother in law works the support desk for the VA.
He does absolutely nothing and is coasting until retirement.
Cut his arse.

Suck the rich schlong because all it took for them to get rich was hard work. And that can be you too right? The American Dream and all?

My Daughter. I am not sure if she fits your definition of "government worker", but she works for a research department associated to a University and she has actually been doing good work (nothing woke or climate related). She is currently pretty worried about her job,
This has put me in a bit of an uncomfortable quandary. I am 100% in favor of the work Trump and DOGE are going, but it is difficult, understanding this could impact one of my loved ones. So far, she is safe, but the departmental budget has already been cut considerably. She'll be fine, but I hate the stress this is putting under her.

For the most part govt workers are lazy arse schlubs. I worked with quite a few DoD, DoE, and EPA workers that were the epitome of elbow on the shovel handle types that griped about having to do actual work. Hard to get real work w.

So not blaming all of my problems on "rich people" is equivalent to "sucking rich schlong?"
I'm pretty happy you got laid off... especially if you're as lazy as your talking points.

The American dream? I'm enjoying it.

Who do you think pays corporate taxes? have you worked for the government so long you don't realize that corporations just pass along any and all taxes to the consumer, you know, us?
And FYI, corporations aren't spending taxpayer dollars to the tune of 40 trillion in debt. Any executive that spent their corporation into massive debt would be shitcanned, and massive cuts and layoffs would happen until the books not only balanced, but a profit was shown. All the American taxpayer is expecting is a balance, and for 90% of you, this is somehow unacceptable. Hate to say it, but people like you getting the boot is a good thing.

I was briefly employed by the government after leaving the military.
They definitely give preference to veterans because there is no way I was the most qualified candidate. Disaster interview. I had no idea what the frick I was talking about and was thinking of bailing mid interview.

Friends sister, brother in law, 2 nephews work for FEMA. All they talk about is the nice hotels they stay in and the nice restaurants where they eat.

Biden increased the Federal workforce by half a million in a little over a year. It sucks, but we just don't need to add that much to the tab as we hurtle toward the fiscal cliff. Will some good folks lose their jobs? Almost certainly. Is this absolutely necessary? Without a doubt!

It’s not their fault wage stagnation has kept the private sector jobs relatively the same while the government employees get yearly COLAs and good benefits.
Is it legitimate for you or is it just lack of understanding and jealousy?
It's that you clearly don't understand that the amount of federal jobs is bloated. In Biden's last year in office, 85%+ of "created jobs" were taxpayer-funded jobs. How are we supposed to begin even touching the national deficit when you're killing the taxpaying private sector and outpacing them nine-to-one in creation of government jobs that are paid by taxes?
