Just up vote if you are for non citizens have the same rights as You as an American.

I'm not getting into the legality. Just your opinion.

If you are for non Americans having the same Rights as you... upvote.

If you are against non citizens having the same rights as American Citizens... down vote

Put it this way..

What rights would I have as a US citizen in any Muslim country?

I understand.

My view is simple.... If non citizens have the same rights as me, then whats the point in having "citizens".

I think every person in the world should have the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

But I don't know how to answer your question, because everyone seems to have a different definition of what constitutes a "right" these days. They certainly don't have a right to full and equal access to our government, economic, or military systems. None of those systems are advanced enough to protect everyone worldwide.

I believe that chimps should be granted US citizenship.

Laugh if you like but a normal adult chimp has a higher IQ than a severely retarded human who would be a US citizen if born in the US.

Of course.

If being a citizen isn't 'special' then it's not worth fighting for.

I don't think I know a single person that would believe that non citizens should have 100% the same legal rights of a citizen.

Now natural rights? That is a completely different story.

The constitution is what governs the jurisdiction of the USA. That's why they sent people to Guantanamo and that's why they need a judge to classify people as enemy combatants and that's why the have to render people to countries like Bulgaria for enhanced questioning.

Non-citizen Drug dealers caught in the USA get the same constitutional rights as a citizen.

Disclaimer: I am a non-citizen.

Things like voting, jury duty, access to welfare etc. - no

Things like access to education, rights related to work etc. - yes

Anyone on American soil should have inalienable human rights as defined by our constitution.

And no libs, on-demand tax payer funded abortions is not an inalienable human right.

My wife isnt a citizen. She has her Green Card. Other than voting and being able to purchase/own a firearm, i'm not sure of any other rights that we as citizens enjoy that she shouldnt be able to.

ETA: i also dont think non citizens that are brand new to this country should have access to welfare etc, apart from refugees that truly need the help. If youre going to move to this country and you're not coming from a warzone/fleeing a life-threatening regime, then you need to be financially stable enough not to live off of our taxpayers.

I was only asking for the sake of clarity. Not every Muslim country practices sharia law, for example. Niger is around 59% Muslim, and does not incorporate any aspect of Sharia Law.

Of course, no, you could not declare the US Constitution over their own laws. I have no idea what would be required to be eligible to vote, but I presume some form of citizen status would need to be granted.

The Up/Down vote option here literally means "All or nothing" for the question posed. Should a non-citizen have the right to freedom of religion? Of course. The right to vote? No. The right to due process? Yes.

My DIL is a non citizen. She has every right you have except the right to vote. She could get that by naturalization but she doesn't want to vote that bad.
