I don’t get into personal stuff very often here but I’ve lost a child.
My ex wife was 6 months with our son. We found out a few days before Thanksgiving 1999 that he passed away.
She had to carry him another few days before delivering.
I held him afterwards. All I can tell you is that he was fully formed and it was devastating. But more than that is that they can survive at that stage outside of the womb. I cannot imagine an abortion at that stage of a pregnancy. That’s beyond horrific to me in a personal sense and I’m somewhat sympathetic to keeping abortions in the first trimester legal for extreme situations but never ever for reasons of convenience. I just cannot have the experience I had and approve of it because the timing isn’t right or you’ll struggle taking care of a baby or whatever the reason (excuse) is. I was 20 when my daughter was born. Was it easy… nope. It was a wake up call that the partying days were officially behind me and it was time to be a man.

My twins (boy girl)were born at 31 weeks. They were about 3 1/2 pounds each. My son had issues with his lungs at birth but he recovered without issue. My daughter had a brain hemorrhage at a week old and now has very mild cerebral palsy. But she graduated Tech a year ago Magna cum laude with a double major English technical writing and also Spanish.
I get choked up talking about them because I know how fortunate I am to have them being born premature when babies were being aborted at the same point of development. They are truly special kids.
