My grandmother became a court reporter for a federal court and did not give two shits about your woke political beliefs - she walked into the courthouse and got a job that day - shite she had a pension and everything!

Heck my dad was a plumber for an army reserve building and that accented him into the middle class!

What happened to those jobs?

Earlier today the mail man left a small package at the base of our mailbox because it wouldn't quite fit inside.

He obviously didn't want to get out of the truck to put it on the covered porch because it was raining.

So instead he just placed it at the base of the mailbox post and drove to the next house.

What type of accent did he acquire after working this job?

Oh you mean ascended?
Well those jobs don’t exist anymore. Fed employees don’t actually work anymore. They loll around and complain and gripe about actual work that needs to be done. And get paid decent wages and take every made up holiday known to them.

I'm a federal agent and I'm here to tell you - there are some lazy arse mother frickers working for the G. For every squared away, former military investigator there are five support staff/program managers that do absolutely nothing. They make six figures and do nothing all day. If you ask them to help out with anything, they get indignant. Most of them are fat, middle-aged females and look exactly the way you'd imagine.

Because we’re broke, and they are part of the reason. Things aren’t like they were when Gran walked in to get a .gov job.

A number of employees that work for the federal government seem to have forgotten who employs them and why. For them it’s about inefficiency while maximizing wages and being accommodated to the fullest.

Vivek and Elon are going to trim the fat.

Bless your heart. The FBI and DOJ have done a splendid job vilifying themselves; “we” didn’t do anything. And no one is vilifying the dude that goes in and cuts sheet metal at the local military installation, or plumbs a toilet at the federal courthouse; however, everyone who has done this kind of work, or worked around these people, know they are overstaffed, and many barely hit a lick all day long.

They pretty much did it to themselves. "We" just stood back and watched it happen.

It starts at the clusterfrick we call a post office... then throughout your life you deal with various federal agencies and understand what is going on. Then you hear about stuff like IRS agents owing unpaid taxes to the tune of $1.5b billion while they are the ones auditing, foreclosing, etc... on people. There are hundreds of stories like this and they add up. Villified is a LEARNED behavior regarding federal jobs.

Unions... nothing against them to be honest but some of the worst news around unions in my experience has been The Teachers Union... that's a fricking joke of an organization.

We didn't "allow" anything to become vilified. These unions and federal jobs allowed themselves to become vilified by being filled with... crappy workers, greedy employees and... well, workers who are basically idiots.

I dont have an issue w/ trade unions, but the federal government is a fricking waste pit.
The us cannot tell you where 400 Billion dollars is, they lost it this year. Now do that every year since 2000 and run intrest on it we woiluld have almost no debt.
I'll never forget a 6o min interview about waste and the Army was spending $500 for a Craftsman hammer you could have walked into Sears and bought for $18 bucks. Sears said they were only selling them for the $18 so where did the other $482 go?
Now do that w/ shite that can't be priced checked like missiles ir guidance systems.

How did we allow them to be vilified? They did it to themselves.

I give you the POS Harold Daggett, ILA union leader as East and Gulf Coast ports were shutting down:
quote:

When asked about how the supply chain could be affected by the strike, Daggett predicted that every port “from Maine to Texas” would lock down. When that happens, he explained that many businesses will shut down, threatening to “cripple” his opponents until a proper deal is reached.

“I will cripple you, and you have no idea what that means,” Daggett said. “Nobody does.”

I know the OP is just trolling, but I will say, most unions & federal jobs enable the laziest muthafukahz to become even lazier, as it's almost impossible to fire them based on performance alone.

OP apparently has never dealt with government agencies in his work!
The most inefficient, don’t give 2 shits, waist full, answer to no one, killer of progress, IS government.

My field was in land development, try dealing with ANY of the government agencies involved, from local, state and federal ones and watch your project go from having affordable new housing to the prices that we have today!!
(Yeah I know there are other influences that balloon prices but government is right up there)

One time we had a meeting with TXDOT about the location of the main road in our development, we had a beautiful green area with lush oak trees and a creek that ran thru it, about 20 acres in total…..we wanted to go around this area and preserve it, plus we would have to build a bridge.
We show up for the meeting and the head hancho, after we get done explaining him our preference and reason why we wanted the main road to be at this certain location, he says to us in the most “I don’t give a frick attitude”, nope the road needs to go thru the lush are and the creek!!
We told him it’s going to cost us an added million dollars extra to do that……..he turns and looks at all and says, ITS ONLY MONEY we are talking about.
We started laughing because we thought he was joking until we realized this a-hole was dead serious!

I remember telling him, that it was just money to him because he wasn’t the one paying for it. I remember my partners looking at me with a “shut up” look.
fricking a-hole!

That’s worthless government workers for you!
