I read the Secret Service had been asking for increase support for weeks. Biden never approved it.

It's a total disgrace and justifiably going to fuel conspiracy theories.

I have always thought they cover a pretty wide perimeter and try to cover sniper fire, so… I’m surprised.

You really believe there is enough staff to put a person on ever accessible roof withing 400 yards. Or 1000 yards?

Guess what, not only your local PD is short but there is staffing shortages all the way up.

Worked with secret service on presidential details and it’s their job to figure out every planned event opportunity for someone to take out the president. I sat on a boat for 2 weeks next to the intrepid in New York for bush hunting to fly in and give a 20 minute speech. Obama stopped in Georgia over night. The hotel was on a water way. We stood watch till he left. So I don’t buy “how could they have seen that” BS.

You are a liar.

Securing the only buildings in the area would have been priority one.

Shut the frick up about you knowing anything about security.

Not sure if you’ve paid attention or not but the SS and all security forces have changed a lot since Bush.

Oh no I have…. That’s the problem. The member can only do what they are allowed to do. Policy is what failed today.

So you’ll agree it’s not the fault of these men and women who put themselves out there to do a job. Right?

I think a lot of those agents did a good job in how they responded. They certainly threw themselves in harm’s way to protect him. Obviously there was a major failure in some part of the process here, but I think they responded swiftly and decisively.

Well I’ve had no training in security, counter sniper operations, or tactical maneuvers. But I can promise you I’d definitely cover the only building that would provide a would be shooter an elevated position to fire on the President within 500yds of the podium.

If the policy was 100 yard from the podium or less then no. I know Jamestown during bush we locked down the water way for 3 days prior and a 250 ft security zone from land not from where he was. My point I don’t know what their zone was. If the building was outside that then it was policy. Also why didn’t they have security around those building? Seems logical to me.

From what I can ascertain, the shooter was on the roof of a building at AGR International, Inc to the north of the podium/stage. Depending on which roof he fired from, the distance was between 170 and 190 yards away. Had President Trump not turned his head at about the very instant the shot was fired, that round would have hit its target. That's not a shot made by an amateur. That's over 500 feet.

Have you ever worked in a situation like SS?

It is virtually impossible to cover every scenario. I’ve planned out security details and there is no way I could ever have a staff to make sure every thought I had was covered.

Stop trying to blame anyone other that the left and this trash

You clear and cover the tall fricking building next to event. Overlooking the President. Are you kidding me???
