How Did the Climate Change Narrative First Get Its Momentum?

Apparently, someone seized upon some data and someone else saw the opportunity that it could be used to control the masses.
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on how this first got going.

Al Gore wanted some easy money

It’s a power and wealth redistribution strategy, pure and simple.

It started with a book called The Population Bomb.
Said the growing population combined with word drought would kill everyone by starvation.
Remember the propaganda movie, Soylent Green?
Once the drought didn’t come it was an ice age coming.
Then acid rain
Hole in the ozone
Global warming
Rising oceans
Now we are at climate change plus pandemic.

After the Berlin Wall fell the Marxists couldn't identify as Marxists so they identified as environmentalists.

An endless stream of money and control. That's what the entire thing is about.

Although they used climate propaganda on us in the 70s/80s with global cooling.

The first "Earth Day," which was all about the environment, was held in 1970. I have no doubt that they used it to promote their various agendas.
To show you how wrong these bastards usually are, they actually started out by saying that there was going to be a period of global cooling. When that didn't pan out they changed the emphasis to global warming, and when that didn't work out they changed it to "Climate Change." Idiots.
All it really ever was was a wealth transfer scheme. Remember the stupid carbon tax proposal?

Communists have been seeking to effectively use the environment as a means to push marxist policies since at least the 50's. The climate is the victim and all of humanity is the oppressor. That's the essence of the carbon argument. If carbon is the culprit and all human activity produces carbon, the authoritarian government would assert authority to control all human activity.

It started with Al Gore’s Manbearpig movie.

And now he is a Billionaire like Arafat was.
They do not care of the cause. It is about the money and power.

What is that joke? Environmentalists are like watermelons, green on the outside and red on the inside.

Yeah, I'm sure it probably had it's "environmental" roots around the Turn of the Century after the Industrial Revolution with poor labor conditions & poor chemical/smoke/waste overight that got someone somewhere shouting it was causing harm, not only to humans, but also to the environment. Probably picked up steam with scientific advances around WW2 and really got going with opportunistic idealogues/politicians.

Algore put it in the internet when he invented it.

Started in the 70s mainstream. Actually started in the 60s late 60s.
There was a guy at Stanford named Ehrlich, he had a lab and said things like the oceans will be dead within a decade. Nothing ever came true and he kept doubling down and it's been like that for 50 years. I think it started out as alarmism from scientists that wanted notoriety and perhaps funding, but then got traction from others that realized they could use it for their marxist dreams of tearing things down and accumulating power.
