Him and the wise judge are going for the tallest midget award...

quote:

Houstonians not wearing masks will now face a $250 fine, Mayor Sylvester Turner announced Monday.

The move is a pivot from educating the public about wearing masks, Turner said. Now, Houston police officers will be tasked with issuing warnings to people who do not wear masks, as mandated by the state of Texas.

But wait...

quote:

The mayor cited rising case numbers, particularly several days of more than 1,000 new cases. Turner said Houston's COVID-19 testing positivity rate has been dropping and is now 17 percent.

So the cases are dropping, but we’re now going to fine you...

Will be interesting to see how this holds up, since Abbotts order specifically says individuals cannot be fined or jailed for not wearing a mask.

I drove through Houston twice Sat and was almost killed numerous times by the Fast and Furious morons going 125mph in their Chargers. Saw zero cops until Baytown in one direction and Brenham in the other. Houston area is shite hole mess.

Have a feeling this will be lightly enforced when the initial data comes back that 60+ percent of offenders are Hispanic

So do you have to wear them in public or just to get into a restaurant or business?

Ft Bend county just tried to implement that resolution around calling it the China virus.... So they are taking your freedom of speech while Harris is taking your freedom in general.

You already have to do this... The businesses are fined if they allow you in without a mask.

I’m guessing this is in public spaces.

Did anyone not think this would eventually turn into a money grab?

How long are these orders supposed to last? It seems like every town is making them without stating when they will end.

I was in downtown Houston today and saw both mask wearers and non mask wearers outside. Inside, or course all mask wearers. I didn’t know what the law was exactly so I wore mine when outside the car, but still feel like a moron.

What happens if you don't pay the ticket for a fine the mayor pulled out of his a-hole? I'd just jump in the guaranteed class action lawsuit to come.
