Frankly, this should be the most interesting and useful of the hearings. The facts are generally well known and undisputed. It’s the Constitutional mandate that has been subject to debate ( not just now, but since the Constitution was ratified). Today’s witnesses
are some of our most knowledgeable and respected constitutional scholars, which means, of course, that they will be demeaned and discounted by the legal experts we have here. So far, their testimony has been even-handed and well-reasoned., for those who genuinely care
about Congress fulfilling its duties lawfully.
