WASHINGTON — House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., on Friday subpoenaed the Justice Department for the full, unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller's report as well as the underlying evidence.

In a statement, Nadler said that the Justice Department must comply by May 1.

"I am open to working with the Department to reach a reasonable accommodation for access to these materials, however I cannot accept any proposal which leaves most of Congress in the dark, as they grapple with their duties of legislation, oversight and constitutional accountability," he said Friday.

The subpoena comes a day after Attorney General William Barr released a redacted version of the report to Congress and to the public, which details Trump's attempts to muddy the special counsel's probe, including efforts to tamper with witnesses, and the decision not to charge him with obstruction of justice in part because there was no underlying crime and many of the attempts were carried out in plain view.

Didn't AG Barr make it very clear certain committee chairmen would get the unredacted version? Is this not good enough? They want to leak it or what?

And who here doesn't think that honest Bob's dems lawyers didn't cue the dems about the obstruction bread crumbs when they opened "obstruction" processing months ago?

Great news.

It's been fun watching the Democrats chase this ghost as they offer ZERO policy initiatives to the electorate.

This is nothing but posturing.

Barr already said he's gonna let select members of Congress see it.

I've heard it described it as lightly redacted as possible already.

Nadler is pretending that there is a vast amount of information that remains redacted. It looks like a desperate attempt to keep the narrative alive.

Is this where Barr cites the Holder precedent of ignoring a Congressional subpoena?

Yet honest Bob left it open for the democrats. Technically AG closed it. I will bet you that dem billionaire guy (that has impeach Trump websites) calls and dictates what Nadler should do and say.

If Trump waits to declassify and put it all out there. They would call it obstruction to his impeachment.

Barr will get right on assigning DOJ attorneys to support that subpoena in the court fight to come for ya there Nadless Jerry. I'm sure some new grad/new hire will relish the opportunity to go against the best and most experienced supporting the laws protecting Grand Jury info.
