1270? That ain’t great considering that the scale has been readjusted from past years and there’s also a writing portion which is worth up to an additional 700 points IIRC.
I’d hope for his sake that’s only his verbal and math numbers and not his writing number too.

Calling bullshite on that. A 4.2 GPA would mean he's in AP classes and is getting straight As and Bs. I was in AP classes and didn't take shite seriously in HS and still got accepted just about anywhere I wanted. I was also a good test taker and did well on the ACT though, something Hogg apparently is not. But being in AP classes alone will have colleges literally reaching out to you to apply.
I'm betting his essays, interviews, and applications were all centered around "the movement" of which he's anointed himself the king. They were probably self-serving and egotistical, and ridiculous to a degree. Even the most progressive universities will have a problem with an entrant that only has or focuses on one area, and you know the dude only used his newfound "fame" to try to get in.
