This one is just unicorn shite. You don't even know where they all are. How are you going to make it "mandatory" to get them all?

I've seen estimates of about 15-20 million rifles they would consider to fall under this category are in the US.

Let's just say they offered $500/rifle and we use 15 million as the number needed to buy them back, you're looking at $7.5 billion. At $250, you're looking at $3.75 billion.

The government would never fork over that kind of money.

Want to see a program's head explode? Inform him and the rest of the idiots that its possible to purchase online a fully functioning ready to fire C&R rifle or pistol and have it delivered right to your front door, but USPS, UPS, etc.... No transfer TAXes, no further NICS check, no BS......
It's my understanding if buying from out of state source the purchaser would need a Curios & Relics (C&R) collector's license.

So you can die for your country at 18, by force if a draft, where they train you “with guns” and send you out and may get slaughtered but you can’t have a beer or a gun until 21. Liberals are morons, plain and simple.

I have a better plan.

Move all of these gun-hating asses to a country that has no Second Amendment.

Like Brazil. Let us know how it goes.

Judging by the compliance rates in states where they've passed crap like this (4%-5% is the estimate), I don't think they'll need much money.

Hogg

This guy is going to Harvard and will graduate, move to the suitable district and get into politics. He will be in the face of gun owners for 50 years. And if Mark Kelly (Gabby Giffords husband) beats McSally in Arizona, gun controllers are going to rain down on gun owners till they relent or explode. This is not going to get any easier on gun owners.

There would be massive civil disobedience- and all of the crazy cat women and father-hating members of Antifa in the universe wouldn't be able to stop it.

Sounds like a lead blivet to me - assuming congress truly represents the wishes of the majority of Americans.

However, I wouldn't be surprised to see it get even more restrictive as discussions progress.

So much for how much I believe congress truly represents the wishes of the majority of Americans.

How can the government "buy back" what was not theirs in the first place?

They can't. That is why we have a 4th amendment. That would never pass a SCOTUS test.

Raising the age for all gun purchases to 21.

Shows how little research they’ve done. Only a handful, maybe 10 at most, of mass shooters were younger than 21.

What if a 19 YO who lives in a bad area wants to get blasted to make the night go faster? Would be too young.

Because being 19 totally stopped 19 year olds from getting drunk

Depends on who's on the bench. Don't think our freedoms are necessarily protected by the SCOTUS. If Merrick Garland had been seated instead of Neil Gorsuch we'd already be living in a different country. 2020 will be a critical election. My kids could care less about who has gun rights. I'm afraid many in the next generation feel that way.

A national licensing and registry system for guns and ammunition.

No doubt.

The only reason to have this would be to make the now-legal weapons easier to seize. And I’m sure there will be penalties if the registered weapons aren’t accounted for.

I have no doubt that there are people in this country who would rule as an authoritarian if they could. Why negotiate with the opposite side when you can smash them into oblivion.
