I believe it's maybe "Criminal Mischief" in Alabama. Could be wrong on that. In Louisiana the offense is called "Criminal Damage to Property" and there are misdemeanor and felony levels of the offense, value of the property allegedly destroyed being the determinative factor. It would be very similar in Alabama.

I know it. And as long as he doesn't happen to have a bad record he'll probably be allowed to plead down to a misdemeanor. Also, the owner will have to show some proof that the thing is actually valued at what they've thus far said. Seemed a little inflated to me.
