They actually had a mayor previously that bent over backwards to appease the crazies. His reward? He got voted out for the pure commie woman.
There wasn't much he didn't do to advance, "progress", in Seattle. The left eats its own.
It's probably my favorite big city in the country and it's going to go through some bad stuff over the next few years. Eventually they might elect a regular Democrat.

Whether you happened to watch the recent WC or not, everyone got the warm fuzzies from the crowd being incredibly patriotic and belting out the national anthem and serenading the U.S. team post match with “Country Roads”. Everyone was having a great time and visitors were partying their asses off. Seattle never seemed safer and better. The homeless population seemed to have miraculously disappeared and the drug addicts came clean.

They basically pushed the real bad street walkers south into a very old Asian district. Even south of the stadiums. It was/is a mess.

The world cup analogy made me think of my last trip to New York City. You go from the boroughs on the subway where no one talks no one makes eye contact.....to the museum of Natural History. Everyone is clean, well dressed, smiling, chatting with strangers as you look at displays. Mostly white and asian visitors. Two totally different worlds.
