quote:

Abdul Aziz, a furniture shop owner, was at the Linwood Mosque when the attacker opened fire on the people praying inside

"I saw a man with an army uniform and I say, 'Who the hell are you?' And he started swearing at me," Mr Aziz said.

"I just threw the Eftpos machine [at him] but his car door was open and he managed to get another gun and started shooting at me."

"I just grabbed that shotgun [but] when I pulled the trigger there was no bullet in it.

"Then I called him. I said, 'Look! I'm in the car park - come this way, come this way!' I just wanted to take his focus away from the mosque [so he would] come into the car park. Even if I got shot that's alright, as long as we could save some other lives."

When the assailant saw that Mr Aziz had a gun he ran back to his car.

The gun I had in my hand, the shotgun, I just threw it at him like a spear at his window. His window blasted and he got really shocked - he thought I had shot at him or something.

"And then he just swore at me and drove off [while I was] still chasing with the gun."

Shortly afterwards, the killer's car was rammed off the road by local police officers and a man was arrested.

Hats off to Mr. Aziz. I hope I never find out if I have the balls to do something in a situation like that.

This is a poignant observation within this overall tale of heroism and dedication.

I watched the whole video.

None of this happened in it other than the fact that the guy dropped his shotgun after he emptied it into the mosque.

Maybe from the second mosque?

Edit: yes, it’s from the second one.

Glad this guy saved people and fought back. I wonder what he thought about the calls for jihad and radicalization at Linwood that contributed to the mosque sending several people to fight for ISIS?

Well said.

Also, notice this armed attackers reaction to another man with a gun. Gun control supporters, can you comment in this?

What this suggests is that this all could have been prevented had Mr. Aziz been carrying his own loaded weapon.

Well. Since he continued to worship there I would say he was fine with it just like a concerning number of muzzies worldwide.

two things here:

1) without the gun, Mr Aziz would not have felt he had a chance to stop the terrorist, so he runs instead of engaging. attacker keeps shooting people

2) without having been engaged but a man with a gun, the attacked does not turn to a defensive posture, and he keeps attacking, and shoots more people.

even a gun with out ammo is > no gun at all.....
