It’s not really that revealing, honestly. States with ocean ports receive a shite ton of goods from China. States with Mexico ports of entry receive Mexican goods. States with Canada ports of entry like Maple Syrup.
The USA has fricked rhemselves with an appetite for affordable shite. My company has begun to shift from China, but the USA has no capacity for most of the crap people want. As in, you can’t even quote it.
My old company used to do some blow-molding domestically, but that’s it. It was only advantageous because of size and weight. Injection molding, rotomolding, textiles, electronics, printing, packaging are infinitely cheaper in the FE. We are so far behind.

In October 2024 the top imports of North Carolina were Vaccines, blood, antisera, toxins and cultures ($1.49B)
This matches the inverse statement from Ireland.

It's Pharmaceutical related. Ireland has very advantageous tax law for the industry, and with Lilly and the research triangle it makes sense.

electronic equipment (as opposed to consumer electronics).
Medical, optics, GPS, etc. I'd call it "industrial electronics"
