Friend owns some convenience stores and has people working 70 hour weeks because people won’t even show up for an interview. Jobs start at $11, and it’s inside air conditioned work. Pathetic. Talked to a couple of the guys, and they don’t mind... they like the $$$$ they are earning. One guy bought a new truck.

McDonald’s is now offering $50 just to interview. Our poor folks suuuuuck.

I stopped chasing the money. Benefits of any kind is going to play a factor in a lot of jobs in the future.

It is less ambition and more a bout opportunities that are shrinking for working class individuals as time goes on. Then when that is gone, it becomes survival and a lot of people are doing just that.

Some people are stuck where they are and others are journeymen. It is rare to find a profession that a person will know exactly what they wanted to do from years past.

Make sure he stays long enough to vote in the recall though. Newsome is a dem Prez contender at some point so being recalled by his state will be a needed stain the msm will have trouble sweeping under the rug.

If paying people a living wage breaks the system, then the system needs to be broken

. She said, "It's not just Friday. It's every day. We only have 4 employees left due to COVID crap, and the four of us are working 10am to 8pm 7 days a week until we get some applicants."

I'd order them a pizza or some kind of dinner delivered for that. These are the types we need to encourage and keep their heads up.

How long do these people expect a measly $1,400 to last? This whole situation has made me understand why a lot of people stay in poverty.

It's not so much that. It's the continuance of enhanced unemployment benefits

If you're getting state employment +300 a week you're making more not working than you are working a low wage job in a restaurant

It is everywhere. I know a kid that got offered 20/hr for a summer job because they can’t feel opening. Nobody wants to even apply for jobs anymore. Just sit at home and get free shite. Farming is getting tough too. Frickers aren’t worth 15+/hr, but you have to pay it so you have workers.

What are they paying these people to where a couple $1500 checks are life changing?

Add to that the enhanced unemployment and that is more than a lot of waiters/waitresses make at these national chain restaurant like Chili's, Outback, etc....those are the only place I've seen this issue....local restaurants haven't had this problem in my experience.

I just went to my local cafe this morning. It was packed and they had three people working as servers including the owner.

Not sure where you’re located but it’s the same thing in my neck of the woods. Damn near every restaurant (fast food and standard) have a help wanted sign

And standing either at the parking lot entrance, or nearest intersection will be at least one, if not multiple bums looking for a handout.

I've seen restaurants offering bonuses to people to get them to work. Crazy.

This could be a good thing. Think of all of the hard workers who still have a benefits-paying 8 to 4 job who want to make extra, so they go work for Uber and Waitr. Maybe quite a few will want to wait some tables or wash some dishes if the price is right.

Sounds like they’re not paying a living wage.

But the government, that produces nothing, is paying a “living wage”..... right.....

This is getting insane - our garbage truck came today - they never come on a Saturday but said they are having to work 7 rays a week because half their workers are staying home.

Great job everyone !
