The Louisiana National Guard has four general officers right now.
MG Tommy Friloux
BG Mike Greer
BG Jason (not Judd) Mahfouz
BG Shawn Coco (Air Force)
And in recent memory, there were 2 brigade command slots and the director of the joint staff filled with generals. I kind of have a faint memory of a second AF general, maybe the air staff director.
IOW, I don't know if 4 is the full allotment in 2025. Might be.

they have about 6
the ones you mentioned plus a go slot for aviation and ang
whatever will they do when they shrink from a squad sized element of go’s to a fire team

So, we are supposed to be getting ready for China, at a time when we refuse to acknowledge the Russians as a threat, and we are adding tens of billions of dollars to the Defense Budget, yet we are cutting the guys who actually plan and coordinate this stuff....?
It's not enough to make cuts - you have to make the RIGHT CUTS and the people doing so have no experience in this area. This looks good as a front page headline, I don't have so much faith in it in practice.

Tax payers are being raped by the DoD. Check this out from Grok:

Comparison:
Today: ~39–44 four-star officers (all branches), with ~13 in the Army alone.
World War II: ~22 four-star officers (Army and Navy combined), with 13 in the Army.
The total number of four-star officers today is roughly double that during World War II, despite the military being significantly smaller now (1.3 million troops today vs. 12 million during WWII). This reflects a higher ratio of senior officers per troop today (1:1,400) compared to WWII (1:6,000).

WTF?
There is so much dead wood, people who cut their teeth on Iraq.
The next generation needs time to get promoted.
Senior Officers today are the battleship and trenches class of WW2.

Have you ever heard of too many chiefs and not enough injuns? If not, then you should never be in control of staffing, ever.

You are severely hampered by stupid. I wish you the best as it must be a heavy burden for you to carry.

If you deserve it, and worth a lick, then prove it and I'm sure you'll benefit from this move.

Jesus Christ what are you blathering about? Russian is not a threat to the United States in a conventional war. Secondly we now have less troops and like 3 times the flag officers than what we had in WWII. In fact the Army has more 1 star generals than the Marines have Colonels and yet the Marines are a much more efficient fighting force. To put it simply, which I think you need, to many chefs screw up the meal!

Right, that’s why 20% is not nearly enough. There were only 233 Admirals in all of WW2, and that was not all at the same time. It’s welfare for rich bureaucrats.

I cannot find Lawrence Sellin's article, only references to it. He wrote it for UPI and it was published on Wired.com and Breitbart, but I can only find references to it in other articles or dead links.
Regardless, I served with COL Sellin. I was in the old days version of "Zoom" meetings with him. He is a PhD Green Beret and just one of the sharpest, straightest shooters you ever want to meet. His description of what was going on in CUBs in the combat theaters, circa 2010 was spot on. The objective of the conflict, apparently, was to produce every more colorful powerpoint presentations for cognitively challenged general officers.
I really can't do it justice here, but it was Monty Python/Douglas Adams quality satire of a real trauma that many of us experienced first hand. I wish I could link the actual article, but I can't find it. He also goes into the rapid expansion of headquarters elements with no real role in warfighting, so this "death by powerpoint" became their only real function. And, further, that they had to create stovepipes to get the real data up to senior leaders and, ultiamtely, stovepipes-within-stovepipes.
Now retired, Dr. Lawrence Sellin is a great man.
