…administration will combat high house prices by building lots of new houses. So, the federal government will be getting into real estate construction and sales if she wins??

One of the dumbest people to run for president in history. Definitely the most left in a general election.

The government does everything better than the free market, so you know these houses will be built to last.

And I thought DR Horton homes were poorly built with below grade materials. I can only imagine how shitty government built houses will be.

They want to force multi family section 8 housing on you. They are going to give grants-payoffs to local governments to do so. I sit on my local P&Z commission. I can tell you without a doubt this is coming. Local governments should start adopting zoning laws that don’t prevent it but make it harder to do. You can’t outright ban them but you can make it more difficult.

This is a wonderful example of government-built housing from our old friends in Soviet Union.

She came out with this several weeks ago and the industry rebuttal was that if whe subsidizes housing the industry will just raise the price and absorb it doing exactly opposite what she affirms...

There were a bunch of Harris ads during yesterday's football games. They were a pack of painfully obvious lies that only MSM screen lickers could believe.

There's no way they could bring it down to pre Biden/Harris numbers.

They have installed 8 charging stations in 2.5 years, and she thinks she's going to do 3 million houses in 4 (even 8) years?

Won't be houses. Will look like this boondoggle of 800,000 unfinished homes, all pre-ordered, many paid for, left unfinished in China. She'd throw $5 Trillion at a program, hastily made, lacking oversight and a few Dem donors get rich and the whole thing falls apart. Nobody is responsible. Lawsuits abound. There's a bailout to make people whole. It'll be a huge mess.

No it doesn’t work that way.

The govt. would hire, finance and oversee developers who would build the houses. The houses would cost more per square foot, but the govt. would give them to their constituents. Certain constituents.

No matter WHAT kumswalla promises, the response is simple:

Why didn't you do that your first four years?

Two programs:

First, build 3 million homes, and you are right, its section 8 housing on steroids, it will definitely bring real estate prices down when you have venezuelan gangs living next door.

Second, was to offer 20K to first time home owners. And the poster is correct, the market will just jack up the price. Its identical to student loans, once the govt guaranteed them, universities jacked up the tuition through the roof and people who should have never been in college, or had a desire, ended up there. In this instance they will be in homes they can ill afford.

Housing mess all over again, but like clinton who caused it by forcing banks to offer to dei candidates.......he was long gone when that turd started to smell under W.

Any dem policy, you need to ask yourself NOT what are they doing to help but WHAT are they doing it for.
