You literally described the basic structure of the military. The military is like the one place where you don't get your own opinion and you need to do as you're told by those above you.

That's exactly why such people should not be in these positions.

You're an idiot and obviously have never served. In the military you follow orders and are not allowed to question same.

Or... expecting Boasberg or one of his ilk to come to their rescue.

Or... they're making lucrative job deals in the private sector with the exchange of making Admin47 look chaotic and destabilizing on matters of policy.

The entire military is specifically trained to NOT be normal people. That's core to it's capability and purpose.

I think your first sentence is more correct than your last one.

These weren't off-the-cuff remarks. She had a few days to think about it, think about whether to say anything at all and what to say if she did. She knew what would happen and chose to become a 15 second martyr.*

Her role is precisely to be a yes man. There's nothing wrong with her having an opinion different from the CIC/Admin. But she took an oath, specifically to obey orders from the CIC and the chain of command. She made an active effort to communicate to her command to undermine the policy of the CIC. This kind of behavior is endemic in the current military and it absolutely needs to be eradicated. You don't like or agree with the policies of the CIC? Then resign your commission and go do something else. I don't know the range of formal punishments possible in this scenario, but she should receive the maximum. It's the only way to stop this behavior and restore the rightful chain of command that is essential for a functioning and effective military.

It's in the oath she and every military member took.

This shite is deeply seeded in our services after 8 years of Obama, 4 years of Biden and the 4 Trump years that didn't change much.

It needs to be rooted out and these folks need to made an example of otherwise it just empowers others to speak up and defy the POTUS.

I hope the individual services have changed their service chief guidance to boards and panels by now so these officers arent promoted or selected for leadership positions.

She is an embarrassment to the impartiality our armed forces are supposed to display

Even General Douglas MacArthur was relieved of his command by President Truman, primarily because he publicly disagreed with and undermined the administration's policy of limiting the Korean War.

MacArthur's public statements called for expanding the war to include attacking China. Truman was trying to maintain limited conflict and MacArthur's statements were undermining the administration's goals, and specifically were undermining to Truman's authority as CiC.

Now, I'm not debating the wisdom of either Truman's goals for North Korea, or MacArthur's vision of defeating the communists in China (in retrospect, he was very likely right) but the world was exhausted from WWII and the appetite to widen the conflict any further was not a popular opinion, globally and in the US. It would make an interesting topic of discussion, though.
