With veto proof majority. 72-28. Big bipartisan support. Looks like we gonna have constitutional carry in Louisiana!

Mighty nice of them to “allow” us to practice our constitutional rights

Wow I did not expect that.
ETA At risk of sounding a pessimist....is this just a case of oh hell we'll vote for it since we know JBE is going to veto it? If that happens does the House have to bring it up for an override vote? This almost seems like political posturing a little bit. Too goo to be true.

I’d like to see a list of the 28 no votes so I could be shocked

Likely correct.
Also, shows to everyone that JBE has chosen funding over the will of the state of Louisiana especially with 8 Democrats supporting the bill.

How do we check how everyone voted.

Good.
Now get to work on the CRT and tranny athletes bills.

Heard someone from the legislature basically saying voting against constitutional carry is all about the $$$$ it brings in for the state, it has nothing to do with safety.
I really expected the house to spike it, guess the override vote will be quite telling.

He means the money that concealed carry permits and renewals generate for the state.

I didn't expect it to get this far. I posted on every time any of the three constitutional carry bills made it over a hurdle.
I dont know what comes after the veto. How do we get to the override veto? Senator Jay Morris, author of the senate version of constitutional carry SB118, said there hasn't been an override session in over 10 years.

That's because governors tend not to veto anything with a veto proof majority behind it. The math of who will vote for/against what is known before a session could be called.
The veto sessions, then, would hypothetically be reserved for line item vetos which are never even attempted at over-ridden.

While concealed carry classes and permits might get less traffic and revenue, those who travel to other states that don't have constitutional carry, but do have concealed carry and reciprocity agreements with Louisiana will still get their licenses. I think the revenue will take a hit, but not a devastating hit because people will still be wanting to get the permit.
eta: (that's just my opinion, not based on any research or anything, and I could be wrong).
