Americans are so fricking entitled and lazy, and their kids are even worse.

100% thought the same thing and had to check the link

The Babylon Bee couldn't have written this any better. Holy shite, the softness and entitlement is nauseating.

Zahra Rohaninejad, a freshman who attended a $65,000 a year all-girls school that does not rank students and offers an anti-racist curriculum, said harsher grading practices would minimize her academic "enjoyment." "I can't reach my maximum level of enjoyment just learning the material because I'm so anxious about the midterm, so anxious about the papers, and because I know it's so harshly graded," she said. "If that standard is raised even more, it's unrealistic to assume that people will enjoy their classes."
This is what’s wrong with college. Right here.
An anti racist curriculum. What in the world of frick is this shite

"I skipped classes on Monday, and I was just sobbing in bed because I felt like I try so hard in my classes, and my grades aren't even the best. It just felt soul-crushing."
Life is going to absolutely chew this girl up and spit her out. She'll either self-terminate or develop some character and a spine. Hopefully it's the latter.
...I mean, I've paid taxes and worked my arse off for 31 years to keep my head above water and not ever have to rely on the government for "assistance", yet I watch people every day who have ZERO motivation to do so, and live in total symbiosis with federal welfare programs. You just have to accept what you cannot change.
Back to this young lady though.... I don't want to seem like I'm a proponent of bullying, but when I was growing up there were bullies that weren't just online cowards posting mean things about you on socials. And they were just one person picking on another person, not groups of 12 thuglets mercilessly beating the shite out of one person.
The bullies back then taught you who you were, and how you would deal with real life situations. They taught you if you were alpha, beta or sigma. They taught you if you were a "fight, flight or freeze" person. I stood up to my bully, who was bigger, faster, stronger and a hell of a lot meaner than me. And he beat the shite out of me. But that dude helped me up off the ground after and we became friends because he gained respect for me for actually fighting back when he didn't expect it. He changed me and I changed him, weird how that works.
Kids these days don't have that conduit for valuable life lessons. Their bullies are either snarky, devious little demons who torture them through DMs on socials, or they're thugs in great numbers who don't even care if they kill you when they get mad enough to jump you.

They are so fragile . What they need is boot camp. Tear them down to nothing. Then rebuild them into strong people.

Apparently the grades have been inflated:
quote:Fortune
About 60% of the grades handed out in classes for the university’s undergraduate program are A’s, up from 40% a decade ago and less than a quarter 20 years ago, according to a report released Monday by Harvard’s Office of Undergraduate Education. Other elite universities, including competing Ivy League schools, have also been struggling to rein in grade inflation.

Way back in the 1980s, I read an article about Harvard students who lived in Dunster House, one of the residence halls.
I remember two quotes in particular -
From a feminist female student: "If I give a man permission to touch my left breast, and he touches my right breast, that's rape".
From a gay male student: "I've slept with men I knew had AIDS. I did it as a political statement".
My conclusion?
Being batshit crazy does not disqualify one from Harvard.

Pretty unreal the colleges have sold the "college experience" angle to students rather than focus on instilling hard work and dedication to the outcome of what you achieve in 4 years. How much money does Harvard cost and they're worried about anything other than maximizing their learning and future success based on their education?
Wait till she graduates and gets a job and starts complaining about her "workplace experience" and the work assigned is "not fun and enjoyable". I dont pay my employees to have a good time and do fun things. That is what they do when they are not on my dime.
Welcome to adulthood your worthless, blue haired, nose ring, tattooed soon to be Starbucks barista.

I enjoyed college to the point of social interaction but I spent a large amount of time and effort to study like a madman. Did I enjoy that part? No. Those kids need to nut up!

How would you like to pay 150K to send your kid to college then they come home like one of these idiots.

So you could choose which courses to get a Pass/Fail grade and protect your GPA?
Over a 3rd of the curriculum?
Must be nice.

Give me a military combat vet who graduated from state school over any of these Ivy League kids.

Harvard and other "elite" colleges went to a need-based model 10+ years ago. When you combine that with "test optional" crap that came out of COVID, you get students that aren't Harvard material.
There are a lot of Ivy League graduates in the past few years that just arent impressive.

Well, Harvard is just being consistent. They see their mission as promoting equality. If everyone gets an 'A' in every subject you can't get any more equal than that. The problem is that Harvard graduates will go into white collar jobs and their companies are not interested in being equal to their competitors.

Too much of liberal colleges have become glorified post adolescent daycare for leftist indoctrination.
