Harvard isn't strict with anything. That school and pretty much the entire Ivy League change grading schemes and game the system in many ways so they can pump out as many grads as possible with "Honors" etc on their diplomas because they know it provides an advantage and will put more Harvard grads in top jobs.
Everything about Harvard and the Ivy League is a sham. It's a complete fraud. I've been around some of these people - there is rampant use of Adderall for studying long hours, plagiarism, cheating, etc. Every one of these insular, bubbled-up places is like this. Hell there was a massive cheating scandal at West Point not long ago.
Anyone who thinks that these places are where the truly elite minds go is sorely mistaken.

It's not a coincidence that Yale was sued for discriminating against Asians when the administration started limiting their enrollment. Because so many were qualifying & graduating with honors. Limiting the number of black Americans who could get in. That 700 faculty members wrote a letter supporting her speaks volumes.

I just heard someone on TV say it's not clear if she plagiarized and that she likely just "misrepresented her citations" instead.
