Don’t just stop at Reid. Both Clinton’s and other high ranking Dems made similar comments in the 90s

This was the position of most of the Democratic party back then, from everything I've read. I'm 31, so I wasn't huge into politics in '93.
It's also one of many reasons, why independents like myself, consider the Democratic party a joke nowadays. Not because they changed their position, I'm ok with politicians changing their mind, if only they'd admit to it. It's because of their current stance on illegal immigration, among many other things they stand for now that I disagree with.
