So were they disciplined for the message or the fact that they wrote anything on the caps?
A lot of leagues have strict uniform protocol and fine players for the wrong color cleats or message on their clothing. I'd imagine MLB will say this is the exact same thing.
Now had the players refused to wear that special hat and said they would only wear the normal, I think there would be a case there.

The suit should be against wearing any special uniforms or if there is one that breaks someones religious feelings, they should be allowed to wear the standard in its place.

I think the issue is the hypocrisy of mlb pushing social statements while disallowing non-approved social statements. Just play baseball. No need for social statements.

That is what Treinen did for the Dodgers just a few days before the Giants pride night. The left melted down just as much about that one too. I wonder if they sign anything in their contracts where they agree to wear rainbows.
