United States Air Force 1974 to 1984.

My father was US Navy and Naval Reserve from 1953 to 1990. My sister and I were both born in a Naval hospital.

U.S. Army but served with a cross services outfit. 1964-1968. Wanted out at the time but would go back in a minute.

I've heard that but I've also heard that that's just a backronym. The most common story I've heard is that it was first said by a Chief in the Seminole Wars.
