shite, I thought I voted for people to do what I want done not what some, Ken doll or little Johnson wants them to do.
That's why I voted for Paxton.
Bush clan hates him and, I hate them back.
Term fricking limits please.

Sounds about right, so much for free thought and “democracy”
Actually, both parties do this. Part of the "evil" and "necessity" of parties.

How often to conservatives in the house cross over on democratic led political stunt bills?
My guess is nearly as often as the opposite.

both parties do this
you can make the argument that efforts to primary someone is the same thing… it is similar, but much less draconian

Jefferies was backtracking when pushed on his earlier comments abou the DSA saying that the democratic part is not socialists. So when two fellow democrats vote and say that they do not support socialism, he gets pissed off? Sounds like he embraces the DSA platform.
Can't have it both ways Hakeem..

Trump tolerates dissent and "free thought" among Republicans?

Apparently you were extolling the virtue of free thought within parties. I think that IS a virture. It's healthy for democracy.
Clearly, our President doesn't share that view. Do you disagree?

Free will is the enemy within the party of tolerance.

yes - I disagree
there is a big difference between public backlash over a vote and the party stepping in to decide "punishment"

Understood. Just to be clear, you think that "free thinking" Republicans are a good thing?

I think "groupthink" is a bad thing

Thomas Massie and John Cornyn know what that's like

Got it. Agreed.
I agree that Democrats and leftists in general are FAR less tolerant of thought diversity. The attack on the Michigan legislator who thanked Trump was proof (as is your post).

Yes — you're thinking of Karen Whitsett, a Democratic Michigan state representative from Detroit.
In April 2020, Whitsett contracted COVID-19 and said hydroxychloroquine had helped save her life. She credited President Donald Trump for promoting the drug and publicly thanked Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during a White House meeting. ?
CBS News +1
The 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization subsequently censured/reprimanded her. The dispute wasn't simply that she said "thank you"; party activists objected to her praising Trump's COVID response and criticizing Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. ?
FOX 2 Detroit +1
Whitsett famously responded:
“I didn’t know that saying thank you had a political line.”
Trump then suggested that she join the Republican Party. ?

So the name you're looking for is Karen Whitsett.

It’s not that simple anymore with the rise of the DSA. Pay particular interest in how these representatives are disciplined. The DSA is going to start bucking the mainstream Democratic Party sooner rather than later. Will those defectors be punished or praised. Jeffries has to be scared of what’s coming.
