I have a friend who was born in Haiti but grew up in the US. His opinion is that we should let them fight it out amongst themselves until there is virtually no one left. You have a combination of illiterate and extremely superstitious people left who get crazy periodically over really stupid shite and destroy what's left of any semblance of infrastructure just to spite other gang leaders. He says the people who are productive and useful have already left and have been gone for about 20 years. It's nothing more than burnt out criminals.
He's not sympathetic at all to the situation over there. He said the Tonton Macoute can have the place and destroy what is left of the country both financially (he laughs at that) and physically.....because they already have. "These are very stupid and destructive people doing extremely stupid and very destructive things"
