Greenland's FM Vivian Motzfeldt says the island is seeking closer ties with China
Thanks Trump!
It's almost like Trump called the Chinese threat before it dawned on you that it even existed, much less that you might be able to blame Trump for it.

What if it’s in our best interest to take over Greenland?

That would be a war. A short war. But a war nonetheless.
Would it?
Do you REALLY think that the Danes would declare war on us?
Do you REALLY think that the 60,000 UNARMED people that live In Greenland would resist?
quote:
We’d also be in the wrong if this ridiculous scenario came to pass.
Wrong or not, you said that America should do what’s in our best interest.
I mean, are you going to move back to the country of your ancestors? If not, then your take is hypocritical, as the lands that we are on were conquered.
If taking Greenland is in our best interest, especially if the Chinese are involved, then you do it.
Denmark and the rest of the EU are NOT our allies in the same sense that they once were.
America first, everyone else second. Just my .02.

Blitz is a goose-stepper eaten up with TDS.
He would gladly cheer for China.
Hell, if armed conflict occurred between the US and China, I have no doubt that he would take up arms…for China.

How stupid do you have to be to want China in Greenland?

China would be more than happy to “protect” them.
We actually cannot allow China to do so any more than we could Canada or Mexico to align with China because it would compromise our national security interests.
We cannot be non-interventionist without a solid western hemispheric wall of defense. We are either global or secure in our area of interest or the entire premise of American posture doesn’t work.

I would highly suggest not pushing our nearest "allies" away from us then like we have been the past couple months.

I would suggest the “allies” you reference aren’t at all actually allies with regard to fair trade or the MAGA era agenda so they will need to be realigned moving forward as Trump is doing.
Fair trade? No
Free speech? No
EU or US aligned? EU
Laundering Chinese goods to game NAFTA? Yes
Aligned with US Trump era strategic goals? No
Mexico, Canada and the UK are in no functional way US allies, they are parasites extracting wealth while hiding behind our military to redirect their GDP to social programs.
We owe them nothing, they provide us with little and we have every right to renegotiate any agreement as we see fit.
We aren’t fighting the Cold War anymore and they couldn’t be effective military allies for us if they wanted to because they don’t have effective militaries. Their armed forces are basically glorified peace keeping forces capable of little else than subduing their domestic populations in case of an uprising.
Further if they invite strategic enemies like China into our sphere of influence we have every right to interfere with them as we see fit to secure our national interests.

They can trade with China all they want, but we're never going to allow the ChiComs to set up camp militarily in our hemisphere. Is it hypocritical considering that we have a military footprint all over the globe? Yes. Will we keep them out anyway? Also yes.

On a trade agreement Trump himself made.
He's creating problems so he can solve the problem. its pure drama and unecessary.

The correct term is National Interest. If Greenland were to develop ties with China, who may be an existential threat to us, in our hemisphere then it certainly would be in our national interest to take care of the problem before it gets worse. And we would be justified in doing it.

Which was a massive improvement on NAFTA and which both Canada and Mexico broke by laundering Chinese parts, assembling them in their nation and selling in the US as Canadian or Mexican products to avoid paying tariffs.

Trump didn’t create the trade deficits, he’s the first modern era politician to attempt to fix them.
Trump didn’t gut the American workforce, the GOPe and DNC did with bad trade deals.
The only drama is the outrage from people like you as the Trump admin attempts to fix the problems your policies created.

Obviously not, as trump now pretends that the goal is zero tariffs.
