It's a definite possibility. I'm at the point where I don't rule anything out.

How would you feel about Chinese bases in Greenland?

Will never happen. The US has the strongest navy and Air Force in the world by far. We would completely blockade them out and yes, even obliterate them in naval warfare before we allowed that. Chinas only threat through force would require using their massive population as human shields; and they’ll never touch our shores.
On the face of it, I agree with this but this is assuming “as things seem today” and does not appear to account for the potential factor of CCP infiltrating most every nook and cranny of this nation and our institutions for the past 30-40 years.
For all we know (thanks to our politicians and the general good old motivating greed of many for making a buck no matter the source), China could unleash a mess from within that makes your otherwise accurate assessment not much of a factor.

No doubt about that. I don't even pretend to know how this will shake out. I know what I voted for and what that could mean but the results are not guaranteed. But that doesn't mean the fight isn't worth it. Bringing back specific sectors to domestic production is a fight worth having regardless of the pain that will be felt. It's a national security issue to me. Other manufactured items can and should remain offshore though and that is getting lost in this. I'll use clothing as an example. I know of suppliers that have zero intent to bring things back here no matter the tariff situation. So your clothing is going to cost more and that is a self inflicted wound. Food costs will also go higher. I hate self inflicted wounds. We need to tread carefully or maybe just a little more strategically. The world is a big place and we aren't irreplaceable on all fronts.

Can’t blame them, we are pretty much pushing them to China.

True but you are a fool if you think think snuggling up to the ones that want to enslave the world is the way to do it. China has no partners. They are out to screw every country not named China. Get their foot in. Then a base. Then guess what, Greenland becomes part of China.

This has been good for China. We're handing them allies, some on our own doorstep.

Generally speaking I agree with that. They will partner up with nations if it can weaken us or the West in general. Which is splintering as I type this. This is a big problem to me. I think a unified front would make this much easier. That’s on both our political class, multinational businesses and the Euro versions of those things.

Everyone is looking to broker the best deal they can get at this point. Alliances have been damaged. Now it's all transactionally driven. If China offers them a better offer... so be it. If we do.. so be it. Greenland needs to do what is in Greenland's best interests.
We would bomb Greenland before we would allow China to be our neighbor (more or less).

this comment feels a little racist...but also "get her arse trump?" ....It's not our country, so do you mean start a war with Greenland over the direction they are deciding to head?
That’s the point. The MAGA warmongers want to start fights with everyone - but Putin is off limits.

In the bigger long term picture we need to align with them to control Chyna. Will have to put past biases aside.

I'm with you. Trump is an earthquake that's reshaping the global landscape. As the most important nation in the world, with the largest economy and military, I love to see this happen.
Explain why you love to see countries that were friendly to the US now getting pissed off at the US, and looking to form better relations with China.
How does that make things better for America?
