Notwithstanding it was not an "insurrection," the fact that some of the people got out of hand does not redound to the actions of someone who was clearly and indisputably "peaceably" in a public space she was allowed access to.
If the shite that went down all summer long of 2020 was a “mostly peaceful protest” then this was most certainly not an insurrection. Instead of burning down businesses and killing cops, the people took their disdain directly to the people who rule. They don’t like being challenged in their own house. That should piss people off on both sides.

Just like it would be tough to feel sorry for people who just happened to walk into a Target being looted after George was shot.
Not even remotely the same. Not even close.

Apparently her attorney thought that the feds could prove that she was not allowed access at that time and that she was with the group that forced their way in to disrupt official proceedings. This must be the issue that led to the guilty plea. Being a "grandmother" has nothing to do with it.
Why does being a liberal CIA director matter? Or being a Clinton, or liberal IRS director, etc., etc? We're holding a grandmother accountable for setting foot in the capitol when she shouldn't have been there, but you can commit perjury while testifying before congress and not even get a slap on the wrist if you're liberal. In fact, you get rewarded. Getting twisted up in knots about the particulars of granny's case is missing the point about unequal justice.
There are two very well-defined divergent paths to "justice" in this country today - one for liberals and the other for conservatives. That's the issue you should be speaking to.

And people like "David the Gnome" rationalized it.

We knew in 2016 TBoy was like this. He even applauded ANTIFA breaking the skull open of a guy. The ANTIFA guy turned out to be a professor that used locks on the end of a chain to break in a guys skull.

turns out the antifa professor, Eric Clanton, got 3 years probation for breaking someone's skull with a bike lock.
Granny the Insurrectionist also got 3 years probation for her hardened attack on the capitol.
seems fair!

Should having grand kids weaken punishments for those that break the laws?

I've never defended that guy. Jjdoc made that up on the fly a few minutes ago.

Does pretending that this is the issue being discussed make you feel like you're not a complete fricking idiot?

Having a great, great, great, great grandpa that was enslaved seems to, so why not?

Gateway pundit (very poor news source) seems to make it a main talking point in their article

DOJ and the FBI have devolved into nothing more than the DNC goon squad and political police.
If dems didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any standards at all.
