I’m ready for an amicable split. Can we just separate normal America from Freakazoidistan - like today?

It’s crazy to think that our current racist grading system would allow a black girl at my daughters school to be captain of the dance line, more than likely valedictorian, homecoming queen and getting a scholarship to Harvard. All of these things are accomplished through good grades. On top of that, all of this happened at a school that has been protested at times as being racist, West Monroe High School.

Damn, I would have had a 4.0 if writing was racist when I was in school.

What they're doing is instead of going through the effort of trying to bring the kids lagging behind to a higher level they are taking the easy way out and dragging everyone down to the lowest common denominator.
Just like the media and so many others educators have abandoned their pride and standards of their craft and its unforgivably irresponsible, both to the students and the nation
This has been the case since integration. Once it was determined blacks were not on par w/ other students, the standards for all were lowered significantly. This is why we are where we are today!

Do you have a link? I’d love to see that!
Here is one: LINK to Wikipedia There's a pretty good youtube video out there too the authors made describing their methods.
It may have been someone else, but this got published in a hoax submission...

Boghossian, Lindsay, and Pluckrose wrote 20 articles that promoted deliberately absurd ideas or morally questionable acts and submitted them to various peer-reviewed journals. Although they had planned for the project to run until January 2019, the trio admitted to the hoax in October 2018 after journalists from The Wall Street Journal revealed that "Helen Wilson", the pseudonym used for their article published in Gender, Place & Culture, did not exist. By the time of the reveal, 4 of their 20 papers had been published; 3 had been accepted but not yet published; 6 had been rejected; and 7 were still under review. Included among the articles that were published were arguments that dogs engage in rape culture and that men could reduce their transphobia by anally penetrating themselves with sex toys as well as Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf rewritten in feminist language. The first of these had won special recognition from the journal that published it.

Critical race theory contributed to Inoue’s idea that ranking things is a system rooted in racism. Because grading is a form of ranking, grading must also be a racist idea.
The College Bowl selection committee is filled with racists!

I would honestly prefer that we plunge into war at this point... enough of this shite. For years we have watched our society slip from our grasp. We have watched the communists rot us from the inside, patiently waiting and assuming that our fellow countrymen would know better.

"Equity" is rapidly becoming one of my most hated words.

It seems to have been a very good and practical institution of technical education. Don't know what its like in 2021. I just wish Georgia had an alternative like that to Georgia Tech when I was coming out of high school there in 1972.

quote:I have hated that rancid term for about 50 years to this point in time. There is no such thing as equality in the physical world, and there never will be. There is a concept called "equality" in your mind, but it will never be achieved in the physical universe. Self-improvement is doable for everyone, but "social "improvement" is more problematic.

Everything is Racist
also, if you shoot holes in their argument or point out hypocrisy...It's a Far Right Wing talking point.

I graded Louisiana bar exam papers in the 1980s. Answers by some of these law school graduates read like they were written by third graders. We were instructed not to take points off for language, but that if we could discern any evidence that the examinee understood the question, we were to grade accordingly. Any we did fail were reviewed, and generally given a passing score by the next level of graders.

I have hated the word equity for years working in education....because I can see firsthand how twisted and warped it makes people think.
Its cancerous.
Its cancerous.

If grammatically-correct writing constitutes "Language Supremacy," I can live with that.

People are taking turns trying to invent things that are racist to, not only one up each other, but also to say "look at me."
We need to limit the internet to shopping, sports, and porn. Nothing else. No social media. No articles with comment sections. Nothing. Give them no platform with which to spew this garbage.

Am I the only one that thinks there is great irony in writing a book that you expect academics and educators to purchase and read that dismisses quality and grading as racist constructs that should be dismantled?
I mean, if her book were poorly written would she be able to publish it? Would readers bother finishing it if there were unclear and poorly written passages in the first couple of chapters? Grammatical errors?
