I wish it were possible for you to understand how painful it is for an intelligent person to attempt to read something as poorly reasoned as that. It's the Tyranny of The Ignorant. It's why we can't have nice stuff. Dear God.

Second, you blame the worker for poor life choices. The problem with this logic is that if the worker did make better life choices and really all workers made better life choices in and did not want to work a minimum wage job because they were more qualified, then who would be hired to do the job? And if no one was hired to do the job because it was all beneath them then they would have to pay more money for to hire people to do those jobs.
Min wage jobs are usually low-to-no-skill jobs which is why they're typically held by young, inexperienced people.

what would be the difference between that and raising minimum wage?
You are literally too dumb to argue with.

Do you make more than the government mandated minimum wage? If so, why do you think you do?

So what would be the difference between that and raising minimum wage?
Are you kidding me? Does this have to be explained?
One is an artificial raise of wage with no increase in productivity.
The other is a voluntary increase in wage most likely because of increased productivity or responsibility.
When you pay people just for the sake of paying them, productivity ceases.

What the hell are you talking about??? You make way too many false assumptions to take any of that seriously.

Question: How can you have it both ways?
You could believe in free market capitalism which automates all that shite for you.

That is a very blanket generalization and one that is unquantifiable. In other words, you were just talking out of your arse.
Actually, it is. Labor Statistic show that the overwhelming majority of minimum wage earners are either teenagers living at home or bored retirees killing time and looking for throwaway bingo money.

Holy frick. You are dumber than a box of rocks.

Why does the left insult minimum wage employees by assuming they aren't capable to work hard and increase their pay/responsibility?

Dude google how much of the population actually makes minimum wage...
SPOILER: It's not enough to justify this stupid fcking thread.

Because if you are at a job more than 6 months and are making minimum wage, you're not fricking worth minimum wage.

Contrary to what you think, most non-leftists don't want people to go hungry, be homeless, etc. They simply want them to provide some type of service to society in order to receive benefits.
Which is really the hallmark of a functioning society, everybody chipping in.
the only socialism that works. every body contributes. yet lefties hate it because its mean! and racist! they want the doers to contribute not the lazies!

Again minimum wage is what teenagers make at burger king If you are 40 making minimum wage you have fricked up along the way
Minimum wage is what teenagers at Burger King start at.
If you are 20 and making minimum wage you are a screw up.
If you are only worth minimum wage, you can't expect to afford a new car or an apartment all to yourself. You need to get roommates to share an apartment, probably in the cheap part of town.
You certainly can't afford to get married and raise a family.
Why would you want to raise the minimum wage and take entry-level jobs away from the teenagers. How will they become worth more than the current minimum wage if they can't find a starting job?

This could be true in some cases and not true in others. Some people have an IQ of 80 and some people have made some poor choices like drug addiction etc.
Either way, they deserve to pay rent
I know some 80 IQ bubbas pulling in $75k...I know a bunch of ex drug addicts doing very well.
No one "deserves" anything, life isn't fair, the arc of success bends to those that take control of their lives...by not working minimum wage jobs.
I have a relative, handicapped, on dialysis, that has worked for 20 straight years, has not taken a government assistance check since he was 20 and proudly will work until he dies.
He's paid his rent and now owns his own home.
He completed college with no assistance or loans.
Life is what you make it, quit making excuses.

This is perfect insight into the mind of the left
they seriously do think flipping burgers at mcdonalds or jack in the box is equivalent to a career job and they want to mandate that it pays $35-$50k a year doing it.
that right there is the core of their thought process, a dead end part time job requiring no skill or ambition is what they want to pay competitive wages with the pay scale of a professional college educated career path

Dumbass what do you do for the portion of the work force that doesn't rise above the minimum wage because they do not regularly show up for work?
You clods expect companies to carry those people and pay them as much as people who do show up. People who stay at minimum wage forever generally do something to deserve it. Those people just will not find work if they cost too much.
Minimum wage laws do nothing but cut off the bottom rung of the ladder.
