No, it's not.

It's a dumbass thing to do. Unless you believe Cleo Fields would be a better congressman.

Jeff Landry is going to be the worst Republican governor in modern history

There are some idiots here if they believe Graves is our worst prominent elected official, and believing losing him to a replacement like Cleo Fields proves it.

Try to keep up

We are getting a 2nd black congressman. Obamas appointed judge will see to that. You have to kick the challenge down the road when Biden is gone

So it comes down to Letlow or Graves. Letlow is better to keep than RINO Graves

No. Letlow has almost zero seniority. The House of Representatives bases all committee assignments on seniority.

Graves is on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (a much desired committee to be on) which is why Louisiana has been getting some hefty Federal funding for infrastructure projects including flood control and hurricane coastal protection.

He is also on the House Natural Resources Committee and its Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee and the Water, Wildlife and Fisheries Subcommittee. So he has strong input into any federal law changes affecting the oil and gas extraction industry and/or the water and wildlife and fisheries industries, not that any of those are important to a state like Louisiana...

Maybe YOU should try to keep up rather than being a lemming whose only concern is if a politician is a fire-breathing MAGA-cult fanatic. (And I contributed $1,500 to Trump's reelection PAC in 2020, so, yes, I support Trump, too, but not at the expense of what's best for Louisiana.)

ETA: And for my contribution to Trump's PAC I got a "free" red MAGA hat and in December I received this Christmas card from The Donald, Melania and Barron...

challenge coming

Good.

Let's see Judge Dick rule that to fight racial discrimination you have to discriminate based on race.

Making her say that only people of the same race can represent that race would be the cherry on top.

You need to keep up.

The new sixth district didn’t have to include Cleo Fields. They could have drawn a minority district without including Fields.

If you look the new sixth has a weird “peninsula” that includes precincts along Bayou Manchac east to included the precinct Fields lives in. That wasn’t necessary to make a minority district.

It appears the politicians just didn’t exclude Graves, they included Fields. Looks to me like a Quid pro quo.

Question for the legal eagles:

Would this challenge go to Judge Shelley Dick since she demanded that redraw or, since it's a new challenge, it would go to a new judge?

That could be a big difference.

Gee, ya’ think?
Think of all of the graft that’s going to be humming, with all of those entitlement programs pouring in. The auditors are going to be working overtime to keep up with it.

This may all be moot in 6 years when LA likely loses another congressional seat due to our stagnant population and other states exploding with illegals. We'll likely go back to 1 majority minority district.

That's one downside to TX shipping illegals to blue states - it only increases blue states' representation in Congress, offsetting their middle class (American) population losses.

Good to see that Cassidy introduced legislation to count only legal citizens for congressional apportionment, but I doubt this gets anywhere.

Do they? Seems like a voting rights violation for white minorities in primarily black areas.

ONLY because he was kissing Mccarthys arse at the expense of conservatives.

It will be volumes times better to have Scalise or Johnson in that seat, with Letlow as a dependable vote, than Graves backstabbing in the House and the governors office

I'm just blown away that anyone would sacrifice the Speakers chair and the Governor to keep Graves. Its mind blowing

Stop giving these no class low rent motherfrickers everything without making them fight for it. The more time they're in court dealing with this shite, that's one less thing they can be fricking up. I've had it with these no backbone scared to fight paid for bitches.

I understand what you are saying and don’t disagree. I will not miss Graves though.
