quote:

I thank
@SecArmy
Dan Driscoll for his leadership to our Army and service to our country. Dan was the right man at the right moment to lead our Soldiers and Army civilians.

Our understanding and assumptions of warfare are being challenged in places like Ukraine and Iran, and Dan understands the old way of doing business no longer applies. He and General George began a transformative period of innovation in how we array our forces and equip our Soldiers. He challenged our legacy approach to manning and procurement. Most of all, he cared deeply about the men and women in our Army formations and quickly earned their respect.

If we had a
@SecWar
who maintained the same priorities and forward-thinking, he would be fighting to retain talented leaders like Dan and the many flag officers he has forced into retirement. Instead, he is creating a leadership void at the top of our military ranks.

I served on Senate Armed Services for 8 years and as chair or ranking member of the Personnel and Readiness subcommittee. I have never witnessed more inept management of the brave men and women who serve our country. He is intimidated by competence and retreats to ginning up culture wars instead of soberly attending to the vital work of our national defense and the health and well-being of our fighting force.

I urge the President to find a new leader at the Pentagon who will retain and empower our military talent rather than diminish it.

Has Thombalina given up on doing anything for the American people? Seems like it. He's a colossal failure.

Isn’t he a lame duck? Not surprised he’s lashing out.

Many current flag officers are holdovers from the Biden admin and some as far back as Obama admin. These guys have been busted in the past stating that they are actively subverting the POTUS agenda in the military to "wait him out" until the next POTUS is in place. Appears they miss the old days of not being held accountable and using DEI hires to play political games and score points so upon retirement they can all get a multiple 6 figure salary at a defense contractor as an advisor in addition to a lucrative O7 or higher retirement from military.

Pretty much whatever Tillis is for I’m opposed to so I guess that’s an unintentional endorsement of Hegseth?

For the umpteenth time, two things can be true.

I'm guessing you're opposed to pretty much everything James Carville believes. Carville thinks the democratic socialists, Mamdani, AOC, and others, are idiots. So where does that leave you?

Pete Hegseth's military experience consists of the following:

*guarding detainees at Guantanamo
*civil affairs officer in Baghdad
*teaching in a classroom in Kabul

And that's it.

What in that experience qualifies him to run the largest department in the federal government, with the largest budget, with almost 3,000,000 people under him?

What qualifies him to manage an entire war? Strategy, logistics, supply...

And don't play whataboutism about Mayor Booty running Biden's transportation department. Again..two things can be true.

Oh yes, culture wars.

Austin carried out the administration's order allowing transgender individuals to serve openly.

The policy prevented discharges based on gender identity and provided transition-related medical care.

You can dislike hegseth, but the previous fella was entrenched in culture wars.

Well you’re talking to someone who wants a massive purge of the senior officer corps in the military across the board because I think they’re primarily political animals placed by Obama and Biden for their willingness to play ball with the globalist/leftist agenda so my opinion of internal promotion from that group is very likely going to differ from yours.

Whether he can be the guy to do as much of that as possible is my primary criteria for whether I support him or not.

Trump should tell him that if he gets the SAVE act passed in the next week, he’ll replace Hegseth. Otherwise, he can go frick himself with all his Democrat komrades and Democrat donors.

If Tillis is urging to replace Hegseth then we need to keep Hegseth.
