I dont understand why a silly pledge is 17 months out is so important to you.
The RNC publicly asking candidates to do this is way more of a problem imo

Considering the amount of "support" the GOPe gave him during his presidency, if I were Trump, I'd tell em to suck it.

So there won't be a GOP presidential debate. Got it.

IF you are going to have 'parties' then the very definition of running on that Party Slate is to have participated in any sanctioned debates that party puts forth.
Now - there must be some common sense requirements to be eligible for that debate. It MUST be limited to "qualified" candidates only. Criteria for that qualification tbd, but I would think that 7 ought to be the upper limit, preferably 5.
But certainly if you want to participate in the debate, you MUST absolutely - with a sworn statement - not run as 3rd party candidate.
I also think that if you VOTE in a GOP primary then your vote for that candidate is automatically resgistered for that name in the GENERAL election. We need to limit the 'party' primaries to be limited to serious voters only - certainly need to have some mechanism to weed out DEM voters from polluting the primary selection process.
You should be able to retract your vote but not change it. Otherwise, discourage 'early voting. Make it require some effort/sacrifice to participate.
I would like to see some demonstration of having 'thought' about the seriousness of the office - some sort of 'test' needs to be passed.
I consider casting a vote to be the result of a solemn and insightful process - not just a 'whim' that you casually consider in the same manner as choosing which soda to choose at a gas station. Make it mean something - more like choosing a wife than birthday card.

Trumps rationale for not taking the pledge in 2016 has 100% been vindicated.
Bernie had the 2020 Democrat nomination stolen from him and Trump had the 2020 General stolen. So his refusal to take the pledge in 2016 was likely spot on. He needed the leverage to keep the GOPe at bay.

Trump won’t debate then because he will not support anyone. He would scream that they were illegitimate and stole the nomination from him. He would run third party.

You think it’s stupid to keep your party united so you can win an election?
Is that what you think you’re doing with multiple threads a day, often citing WAPO or PBS, shitting on Trump?

Ha! They made this pledge in 2016, and Bush and Kasich turned on Trump.

Should do a Town hall at the same time on a competing channel and see who tops the ratings.

I think anyone serious about their candidacy should be on the debate stage. So indirectly, yes.

If they make the pledge but then run third party anyway after losing the nomination, would you vote for them?
I’m not voting for anyone third party. It’s incredibly stupid.

Meanwhile Trump may or may not pledge while everyone is on the edge of their seat waiting in anticipation for Trump’s decision. Trump loves this shite
It doesn’t surprise me that you care more about Trump trolling or messing with people than you do about policy or anything related to the actual election.

You know they are fixing to pull some shite.

No, this is a grownups world.

I'm not obligated to anyone.

I require the GOP to quit selling us out.
Until that happens, frick off with your dumb pledge.
