When Trump made the blunder yesterday, he was also thinking about people like you and how he refuses to give even one inch to you.

I’m not the one accusing Trump of collaborating with the Russians. I’m sorry if our President is too thin skinned of a pussy to take any remote criticism, like saying his tarriffs are retarded and anti-American, should have never endorsed Roy Moore, or that he’s a dumb frick for not firing James Comey as his very first action.

I’m fair to Trump. I like his Supreme Court picks. I liked how he pardoned the boxer. I like his tax policy. But I’m not going to suck him off simply for breathing like 80% of this board does. It is not my fault that the President is doing these erratic actions, and if it is, then maybe he’s not fit to serve. Both sides have gone insane and are escalating the other. There is no place for the moderates anymore.

All of this, every word.

Support for Trump in my area is very soft. Just as Ann Coulter has said that she doesn't care if Trump starts doing abortions in the Oval Office as long as he fixes immigration, I know evangelicals who don't care if Trump ships in illegals by the boatloads as long as he puts pro-life judges on SCOTUS. A healthy RBG is Trump's best insurance policy for a second term. If he gets a 6-3 majority on the court before the 2020 elections, some evangelicals may think they don't need him anymore. On a personal level, he disgusts them.

It's not just about moderates. There is little place for self criticism at all.

This isn't a street corner with an even mix of pubs and democrats and malleable independents where conservatives shitting on our guy results in a bunch of liberals joining in and independents being swayed.

This board is the ultimate safe-space for Trump supporters, and yet, mixed feelings on Trump's actions are met with laughably ridiculous contempt.

not conflate the legit and bipartisan foreign meddling investigation

I agree wholeheartedly that he needs to be smarter and more diplomatic with what he says. That’s the proper approach when dealing with foreign matters.

That being said .....I’d rake RR up one side and down the other for holding a press conf 2 days before I’m meeting with another world leader and accusing them of this. He should have held until Trump could discuss with Putin first hand rather than creating a media shitshow.

I’d also demand him show me all of the evidence and it better be airtight....and easily defendable. This is the highest of stakes and shouldn’t be subject to partisan gotcha political maneuvering. If there was any doubt RR could back this up I’d tell Sessions to fire for insubordination.

the dnc was holding fraudulent elections. if Russia "interfered with our democracy" they did so in a positive manner. if it was Russia, that just makes it even more embarrassing given the rhetoric. they exposed a fraud election, and they're the bad guys?

I have said from the very beginning and I maintain today that whoever hacked and exposed the DNC servers AND the HRC private server emails is owed a tremendous debt of gratitude by the US electorate. Democracy flourishes in the sunlight, AMIRITE?

Now as for the disclosure of classified information, that I do not condone, but it was necessary to bring to light the apparent widespread problem we have in DC with private servers at the highest levels. That needs to stop and stop now.

It's time for Trump to take a little vacation. Recharge and reset. He needs to visit one of his resorts for about a week and only work half days or so.

Words matter. I’ve never accused him of such a thing before yesterday. Yes there is luckily a difference between his policy and words, and thank Christ for that, but that was a major, major frick up that will go down in the history books. It is a “Chamberlain Appeasing Hitler” moment.

And let’s see how that plays out before jumping to conclusions.

I don’t mean it’s literally that bad, but it would fall under the trope of it, where the leader of light and good cowers before an evil dictator. It won’t have anywhere near the consequences of that, but I do think they can be shed under similar light.

It's been playing out for nearly two years with not a single shred of evidence yet.

And now the DOJ is burying the scam inside the national security division of counter intelligence probe where prosecutable offenses will never see the light of day in a courtroom or any public government reports.

They can't keep the charade up any more.

So I should just disregard anything he says? Give me a break. He’s the leader of the free world. I’m holding Trump to the same standard set by Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower, not Bill Clinton. If we continue to hold our leaders to the lowest common denominator, then we’re doomed to Idiocracy. It’s the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Putin is the alpha in that relationship and Trump the beta. Trump will do whatever his alpha tells him to do.

Actions speak louder than words.

This is what he's done so far as POTUS concerning Russia.

1.) Expelled more diplomats than Obama.

2.) Repteadly bombed their client state in Syria.

3.) Sold weapons and technology to Ukraine.

4.) Undercutting their oil and gas market by shipping natural gas to eastern Europe.

5.) Ripped up the Iran deal which was a boon to Russia given that Iran is their ally.

6.) Killed hundreds of Russian operatives in Syria.

7.) Closed the Russian consulate in seattle.

Only if the actions follow it.

It does not.

Trump gave up absolutely nothing of substance at all.

He stood next to Putin and said what he said. He could have danced around it and gave a political answer, but he was very clear in his comments yesterday. I don't buy this "walking back" for a second.
