Same vulgar trash as the gansta rap that is celebrated today and an equal lack of musicianship. Dude is a moron.

Well then, you're not gonna like the next verse either.

Well, I got something to say
I killed your baby today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as it's dead

Solid analogy.

Heard a similar thing about returning a product you no longer want back to it's original spot in the store.

I miss the rebellious nature of rock and punk.

Where is this today? Have all the kids gone low-T conformist?

That’s where BR got its colors from. Mr. Brett being Jewish could never wear a nazi symbol.

Just saying this to the wife (no pics). We are at a loss. This will be a lost, joyless generation if they do not snap the frick out of it.

Arguably Bad Religion was more influential in making skate punk more melodic.

I guess. Suffer kinda changed everything. It totally revived that scene.

Hence why punk rock largely doesn’t exist today. The Warped Tour stopped rolling years ago.

Most young “rock” musicians are making more post-punk sounding music, reminiscent of 80’s bands like The Cure or The Smiths, making deathcore metal with lyrics that are impossible to understand, dub step inspired pop music with very little guitar, or doing essentially modern yacht rock with disco-y drums and mayonnaise groovy guitar riffs.

Outside of metal (which has become nothing but an exercise in who can be the most edgy at the expense of any semblance of musicality), there’s no angst, no edge, no energy, no joy, no love, no sex, no swagger, and certainly no fun of any kind. It’s boring music by boring people with no struggles who sound like they’re all on so many ADHD and anti-depressants that they have no highs or lows, just even, mid-tempo’d vibes.

It did, but the genealogy of punk is hard to parse at times, given the skate punk scene, the DC post-hardcore scene, the Midwest Emo scene, among so many other scenes, all influenced the pop punk to some degrees, and existed concurrently. It returns to the same sort of conversation about credentials, which is pretty boring. What I do know is that Blink and the whole cadre of bands that followed were terrible.

I know the scene kids still exist, but they are noticeably less visible now, as are the venues and in general the spaces where those kids could congregate. It sucks for the youth too.

Lol. Wasn't the last one in 2019? That's not that long ago. And I personally think it has more to do with punk losing its DIY aesthetic, which created a lot of cool spaces for artists to perform and share their work.

Just as recently as Green Day’s 2004 release of American Idiot critiqued the media and its open support of war and silencing of non-mainstream beliefs. But of course now since a Dem is in power, MEDIA GOOD. GOVERNMENT GOOD.

Well, the song has to have an audience who wants to hear it. I doubt many people would think that music was something they wanted to listen to today. Call that "woke" or whatever, buy I won't cry about not getting a song like that today.

This take on what's going on in metal is so far off the mark it's not funny.

No, instead we get empowering feminist lyrics like WAP.

Figures a resident lib would endorse self-censorship. Bad quotation by the article's author not to include "I've got something to say-ay!" at the beginning of each verse. And Danzig candidly admits that the song has nothing to do with rape or killing babies as it is about offending people like you. Nice to see it's still working 40 years later.

Last Caress is probably one of my favorite all-time songs and, TBH, I prefer Metallica's cover of it on the Garage Days album over the original.

So my bet is if he spoke of killing fetuses instead of babies you’d be ok with that...that always seems to make the same act more palatable to you lefties for some reason.
