She has had both Colon and Pancreatic cancer before. Is it possible that this is cancer metastasis secondary to previous cancers?
Regardless, I don't think she has much left in her, despite liberals pledge to donate their ribs and lungs.
She was an Icon, but it's time to nominate another SCOTUS.

She was an Icon,
I don't mean to pick on you but I study language and I'm getting tired of everyone being 'an icon.'
One of my favorite TV shows is 'Mysteries at the Museum'. They use icon an average of 4 times per show.
During the 50s, 60s and 70s I never heard the word used once. It existed. It just wasn't used. Kind of like the word 'parsimonious.'
Now, everyone is iconic. There is nothing noteworthy about Ginsburg as SC justices in history go.

Yes.
My mom died of breast cancer. It was discovered when she was 57. It reappeared in her lungs as stage 4 cancer when she was 67. It not only spread to her lungs it spread to her liver, brain and bones before she passed. She died 2 years later after it was rediscovered in her lungs at age 69. She was the epitome of health. Unfortunately she was born with the breast cancer gene.
The point is, Ginsburg's previous Colon, Pancreatic and Lung cancers could just be one type of cancer that spread to those organs. It is however possible to have all different types of cancer.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has malignant growths removed from lung, no signs of cancer remain
LINK
WASHINGTON – Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had two cancerous growths removed from her lung Friday and will remain hospitalized for several days.
Ginsburg, the leader of the court's liberal faction, underwent a pulmonary lobectomy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, according to a news release from the court.
The procedure to remove two nodules in the lower lobe of her left lung followed their discovery during tests performed last month to diagnose and treat rib fractures suffered in a fall on Nov. 7.
Both nodules removed during surgery were found to be malignant on initial pathology evaluation, according to thoracic surgeon Valerie Rusch, the court's release said. Post-surgery, there was no evidence of any remaining disease in the lung or anywhere else in Ginsburg's body, the court said.

It's amazing that in her current state she doesn't want to retire. She is the definition of ideologue.

That's satisfaction, boy. Seeing your opponent wallow in his utter inferiority and stupidity.

This guy warned everyone in 2009 about what is going to eventually happen.

it is only a matter of time before a Supreme Court justice becomes permanently incapacitated on the job, potentially generating a high-stakes political and moral conflict of unprecedented dimensions. Currently, no Constitutional or statutory mechanism has been established to handle this contingency. Yet if our nation is to avoid such a tragic and divisive confrontation--picture the Terri Schiavo case fused with the Robert Bork hearings--Congress must act before a justice loses decision-making capacity.

I am no expert but I am a keen observer of language, and I try very hard to use it as I learned it in high school - hence the words "he or she" will never be uttered by me. The language was than a "he" in a statement referred to some person, not a male unless the context suggested it. Same with 'man,' e.g. = "Man does not live by bread alone."
The latest word that I have seen being used constantly = "concerning" = as in That is certainly concerning. Seems like an awkward affectation to me.
btw - I loved William Safire with his sunday column on the etymology of common words - and their original usages and how they changed as history unfolded.
I really miss that - there is no comparable person today
