Trump was right.

They were warned. Hubris is a bitch.

Trump was right.
Shocking.
It is almost as if an international businessman could see the perilous situation Germany (and Europe) was putting itself in by relying solely on Russian energy.

Well when stupid choices are made, the consequences are usually painful. LMAO at you thinking BASF gives a crap if the population is trimmed.

Maybe Ze Germans can do something about it if they mobilize their army.
Oh, wait, they have been skimping on that for years.

Two other comments here. The US exporting all our energy reserves, be it LNG or Crude, is a horrible decision long term for future generations. We will end up having to kiss the arse of people that hate us again and/or at war protecting and taking energy from elsewhere.
Two, Brandon’s weaponizing his agencies in the war on the US Oil and Gas industry precludes any rapid ramp up anyway. Cutting leases, climate regulations, and putting radicals in charge of EPA, FERC, Interior and others, and giving inordinate weight to NGO’s protesting permits ensures that getting permission to expand is currently difficult to impossible.

Well, they can't say that they weren't warned about this. They laughed at Trump when he told them.

Good I hope Putin does it today. Just says frick it.

Western Europe knew that Russia controlled the flow of their energy. So why the frick was western Europe gleefully shitting on Russia's head and trying to force this exact situation? Do ya blame the dude getting shite on for pushing back, or do you blame those doing the shitting and trying to make this situation happen?
When we invaded Iraq... if motherfrickers who were dependent on us, started shitting on our heads... we would fight back. At that point, the right or wrong of invading Iraq wouldn't even matter... what would matter is how much we target the a-hole countries that are unrelated to our invasion of Iraq.... shitting on our heads.

I'm not claiming it is an enjoyable scenario...
Germany was warned by the previous administration what could happen if they abandoned all known proven means of energy production to "go green" and then depend on Russia for it's natural gas needs.
Germany scoffed at that notion and shut down proven energy production methods that could satisfy the needs of their citizens and their manufacturing sector. Instead they chose to put faith in wind and solar, knowing full well at the time those methods of energy production were inefficient and could only produce a fraction of the energy needed to keep their country going smoothly.
When warned by America/Trump, they stuck their noses up in the air because "They knew better." They could have easily avoided this situation by ditching the typical elitist European attitude and using some common sense for once.
But NO, they decided that they were just going to throw the baby out with the bathwater and move ahead with zero comprehension that something like this could happen. Russia in recent memory had already got into a dust up with Ukraine over Crimea and it was very possible that Putin would do something similar again in the future.
As the acting de-facto "leader" of the EU, you think they would have had a plan in action in case they had to confront Russia with economic sanctions in the event of future Russian aggression in Eastern Europe.
One would think they thought of the possibility that Russia would turn off the gas if Germany and other EU nations put sanctions on Russia. Hell WE thought of that for them and tried to warn them, but no, OMB don't listen to what he is saying, surely Uncle Vlad would NEVER do something like that.

You do realize that isn't going to shut down their facilities world wide? They will still make chemicals and fertilizers and employ folks in the US.

Here is where I grow all the fricks i have for Germany…..
… they did this to themselves with their “green” energy policy. They made this bed, now they get to lay in it.

Yes but oligarchs can't get richer without global trade.

Sounds really bad, but tell me, what was the big dog at BASF saying while Germany was dropping their panties for Russian oil and gas years ago? What was his reaction when Trump warned them several years ago that getting into bed with Putin was signing their own death warrant? Did he roll his eyes and snicker like the German twats at the UN did?

Anybody bend a knee yet?

"Reliance on a single foreign supplier can leave a nation vulnerable to extortion and intimidation. That is why we congratulate European states, such as Poland, for leading the construction of a Baltic pipeline so that nations are not dependent on Russia to meet their energy needs. Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course," Trump said. "Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of expansionist foreign powers."
