I did. Terrible guy and an awful thing to do. He’ll get what’s coming for him.

I don’t think the government should intervene to silence people. Seems pretty cut and dry

Wake the frick UP. His show got cancelled because late night ratings have been shite for years.

They are just using this as an excuse to get the likes of people like you to rage. And you took the bait hook line and sinker.

I'm so fricking tired of this shite. Open your eyes, stop making everything political even though the media and retards on the internet and celebrities tell you to.

He interrupted a memorial service for Kirk by screaming the n word, climbing onto the stage thing where the students were speaking, and mimicking Kirk’s death. I don’t think I would expect to remain a student at most universities had I done that. Do you?

Show me, how is the government cutting down on free speech? All you have is feelings.

Because private entities don't want to employ people that are actively cheering and showing glee for murder?

The government isn't silencing jack fricking shite, this narrative is complete bullshite.

It may have already been brought up in the thread, but Kimmel was let go because the distributors of the show were pulling it because of his comments. ABC had no choice.

People like to think that Carlin would be libertarian about today's standard, but they are fooling themselves to think he'd be anything different than Colbert, Kimmel, and Meyers.

He would be the exact same slave to the left.

There may be a difference.

The men you list all have staffs of writers producing their witticisms, or what they hope their viewers want to hear. I know someone who worked for NBC as a writer and IIRC he was one of eight for the Tonight Show.

Did Carlin rely on others for this monologues? To me he sounded fresh and thoughtful, not the result of a committee.
May the hippy dippy weatherman rest in peace.

This isn't cancel culture. It's consequences. There's a difference

I really don't care. I just don't understand how he has become a hero for the left after the man show. People on the right have been cancelled for black face yet he had skits on TV doing it not to mention all the sexist skits.

Maybe you should be bitching to ABC bc they cancelled him

Carlin would not be lying. Kimmel has been having an emotional breakdown for years.

First of all, point to all of the jokes Kimmel made about democrats? Hell, he had 4 years of softballs tossed his way, and crickets unless Trump was back in the news.

There are some dots a lot of people are not connecting. It was reported that Colbert's contract was not being renewed because of how much money his show was losing ($40-50M per year). Colbert was the ratings leader amongst the late-night talk show hosts by a large margin. Reports are Kimmel was one of the lower rated shows.
His comments about the Kirk assassination and trying to peg the shooter as a pro-Trump guy; very well could have been the excuse, not the reason.

Kimmel was suspended for fabricating a complete lie about a political killing motive in an effort to encourage more political violence against more political figures

If you cannot understand that you are part of the problem

It wasn't about free speech. ABC affliates were pulling out because of his comments. It's all about money, just like what happened to Colbert. Kimmel should get the Participation Emmy just like Colbert got. Colbert's show was losing money, and now he just said on TV that the assassination was wrong. I can go into my boss' office and say you'e a POS and he could fire me. That's freedom of speech at the cost of my job. It's no difference. When you're losing money, you will get fired.

is there really no difference in cancelling someone because they dont want to take a dangerous shot and someone celebrating the death of a good person who did no wrong?

I was wondering why it took so long to pull a show that was tanked in ratings and not funny. Are you allowed to continue in your position if you suck at it and your employer loses money?

lmao where was your outrage over the last decade when the left was cancelling the right?
Karma does indeed suck. Perhaps you should have called it out then?

And Kimmel is a progressive mouthpiece.
