It is hilarious watching what few progressive friends I have left now shill for more war (they hated Bush), big pharma, and now Wall Street.
Every single one of them opposed Iraq, wanted to cut big pharma, and had "occupy wall street" stickers on their profiles at one point.

Modern Dems are still all about big government, but for many of them that’s their path to staying in office more than anything ideological. They provide more government services, more “free” stuff for the constituents who have been made dependent on government, and in return the constituents vote Sugar Daddy back into office.
Some are ideologically socialist or communist. Many don’t care about anything but staying on the gravy train, and that means staying in office.
And that’s not limited to Democrats.
If Mitch McConnell weren’t in office the last few years he wouldn’t have that big kickback from Zelensky.

People get tired of me saying this (and yet, I don't care), but the Left has transitioned from PROTESTING THE MAN (Vietnam, Iraq) to PROTECTING THE MAN (Big Government, Big Pharma, Ukraine, etc.). Hell, the Left was ecstatic last year when war criminal Dick Cheney and his toxic daughter endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
Meanwhile, the Democrat Party chased off arguably their only two decent people because they couldn't be controlled. Bobby Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard.
