Possibly the biggest unforced error of all of presidents. "Lemme see, things going pretty good? Let's blow it all up"

Not with this much volume.
Maybe not, but look at turnout and young white males switching to Dem at 17%.
We are only a tic above 2022 turnout with Dems really motivated.
The real problem is republicans are historically hard to motivate to vote.
They just don't vote. Especially in midterms.
Look how the last supposed "red wave" failed to materialize.

Trump isn't running for office again.
No but his actions and failure to keep one of his primary campaign promises just shifted the country to the far left.
The political consequences of that are infinitely worse for the future of this country that Bush’s read my lips moment.
Not sure why some of you just can’t admit that yesterday falls squarely on Trump and his second term failures

It's like Trump couldn't just say NO....?
Let's not kick this down the line of blame. Buck stops in the oval office on this one.

Imagine being so fricking retarded that you think that filling your tank at the pump is the only place you get impacted by high fuel costs. The national average for diesel on January 1, 2024 was $3.88 to $3.98 On November 2 it was $6.29. To suggest that this is just about an extra 30 cents per gallon when you fill up is the height of economic stupidity. The price of everything you buy goes up significantly. Every. fricking. Thing. Some posters here are just hopelessly stupid.
Hahaha
I addressed gas because that’s what the OP referenced. You want to look at everything else? Let’s go
From Jan 2024 to now average consumer prices (cost of living) rose 9.2%. That’s an average of 3.4% per year. Care to guess what the “normal”, expected inflation rate is? For a $4,000/month budget you would now be spending $4,042/month. So $42 over the “normal” expected increase. If that’s breaking you, maybe you’re just an idiot with money.
Carry on
Edit: forgot the sentence clarifying the $42

I agree with your main point that this seems worse than it is. It is not indicative of a major value shift towards the left away from the right, in other words. The country will redirect.
Perhaps wild swings are the new normal?

I promise you, I’m more mad at Trump.

dude, why are you being so emotional? the country didnt just shift to the far left, the country just had a harder than normal shift in the soft middle of the electorate in a midterm for a lame duck POTUS
GWB lost 30 House Seats in 2006
Obama lost 63 House seats in 2010 and 13 House Seats in 2014
Trump lost 41 House seats in 2018
Now the Demographics in the US are changing rapidly, what is happening at the state level is more telling than just some referendum on anti-Trump.
Republicans need to understand that and get better at their jobs or this thing is going to go down hill in a hurry.
Dems are just better at marketing than Reps, especially with the MSM covering for them. The negative and hysterical campaigning by the RNC turned people off

because that is far too simple and the answer is much more complex than just Trump. Trump is a major part but there is far more to it than just that

Populism on both sides for a while.

Makes sense…and our populace all has ADD and only reads headlines…or the Instagram/TikToc equivalent.

Yes, because paying $0.30 more at the pump is worse than open borders, universal healthcare, forced vaccination, boys in girls bathrooms, a packed SC, liberal judges flooding the whole nation, drastic Islam sympathizing, less patriotism, social media manipulation and control, increased welfare state and reliance, electoral college destroyers in power…I could go on
The national avg gas price in Jan 2026 was 2.67. The war in Iran started Feb 2026. The national avg is $4.12 now.
