Would that mean the Ethics Committee could release its report?
Who gives a shite? The info in that report is already out there.

If DeSantis was going to appoint him
While it’s obviously possible, I find it unlikely Desantis would use political capital on Gaetz if Trump is unwilling to himself.
It’s more likely it’ll be someone he believes in like Jay Collins or someone he gets something in return for like Lara

Anyone with a brain knows that his biggest fight is gonna be against Republicans
They are owned by the deep state in the lobbyist. And they don’t love that his cabinet picked so far are mostly old Democrats.
They also know that Trump has two years and after that he’s irrelevant.
Matt can return to his house position in January

5-D chess. Appoint someone like Gaetz to make them freak out. Then put the guy you wanted all along who actually has a resume worth being AG, Paxton, in there who the establishment also hates but will be like… well at least he’s not Gaetz.
Some posters got downvoted to oblivion for posting this on the day it happened.

Either Gaetz was never the plan A or he really has some skeletons in his closet.
Either was probably a good thing for Trump to lose him early.

I couldn't be more of a fan of Gaetz for AG. He was literally the best in Congress at questioning swamp creatures in front of Congress. I looked forward to him shaking up the Justice Department.
REALLY disappointed! I don't know one Trump supporter who cared about the "distraction." Even if he were just a recess appointment, that would have been great.
LOTS of air let out of the balloon. Given the timing, I can't help but think that this was just to give Gaetz the cover of resigning from Congress to avoid publication of the investigation.
What a waste.

Except fearless leader isn’t throwing the public fit about it that you typically would expect of him.

Guessing he accepted that the hack that procured the report was going to get published and kill his nomination. If they could’ve kept that report from the public, he’d get strong-armed into the AG position.

Because it was such an obviously awful choice there had to be rationalizations made for its existence
Now that the skeletons are coming out of the closet and they’re too big to ignore, it’s time to hit the “4D chess” button to avoid any self reflection

There are no skeletons senate republicans are just southern democrats.
They fall into the pressure every time because they so desperately want to be love and accepted in DC

There was nothing wrong with what he said.
All he did was insult the poster I responded to. Nothing worse than you see here every day. I guess said poster is just hypersensitive and RA’d.
