I heard it was a woman flying the plane last night also.
Waiting on it to be confirmed.
It looks to be so hard a landing with the right-side landing gear hitting first and braking off.
Also notice it was long into the landing strip trying to land.

Thanks! I saw that particular girl’s hire date and it didn’t make sense. These Regional FOs, especially ones that check the correct boxes, aren’t staying in that seat for 4 years.
THIS is why I rely on Tigerdroppings.com to get information. We bring different backgrounds and information and USUALLY sort out the truth.
Cheers

I would be very confident to fly with her in the future. I mean, what are the odds of the same pilot crashing two planes?

Brand new, female pilot.
Will she be fired?

I have a feeling she won’t be flying planes anytime soon.

Almost entirely depends on what the NTSB report finds. I think it’s unlikely that a probationary pilot keeps their job if it’s deemed to be their fault, but I don’t know for certain. There will undoubtedly be other factors involved in the decision making tree - most notably, the captain’s decision to allow her to continue the approach in that challenging weather & his failure to call for a go-around if they were unstable.

Does sliding down the runway upside down count on her flight log time?
I'm told any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

Women have been flying at airlines since 1973. If she wasn't really qualified but rammed through hiring training anyway, then that's a problem. But just being female isn't.
The problem isn’t women pilots, I’m sure a bunch of them are great.
The problem is the organization prioritizing hiring more of them just because they are women to further their DEI agenda vs strictly hiring based on merits and skills regardless of gender, skin color or sexual deviance preferences and ending up with lower quality pilots as a result.

The flight paperwork is floating around X, along with a screen shot of the FAA database. Not posting it here & would request others don’t either, but it can be found.
In the air right now. What are my chances of making it?

The US Government was forcing airlines to prioritize hiring DEI pilots.
I am sure they would have much rather hired ex military pilots and pilots through traditional means.

Confucius say: Woman who fly airplane upside down have nasty crack up.

Interesting. Would be very interesting to know how many hours she had on that airframe. And hours in general.
It’s not exactly rocket surgery to point out different airframes behave very differently. Given the newness of the pilot, chance of pilot error ramps way up.

Received her certificate in January.
It has been decades since I was involved in the industry, but back then no major airline was hiring anyone for the cockpit who had not logged hundreds of hours. I doubt that basic approach has changed much.

ATP - Airline Transport Pilot's License
-requires 1,500 hours flight time
-requires 1,500 hours flight time

Or it’s changed. Anecdotal evidence suggests the latter.

I saw pictures of her at AU.

The problem isn’t good, qualified women pilots.
The problem is DEI, when such an emphasis is placed on having more women pilots that high standards of quality and talent are subordinated to that emphasis.

I hope it's single elimination.
