We aren't God, so not perfect. Forgiving and forgetting are 2 different human traits.

God let's His children walk their own path, if they want to come back they have to live by His rules. Acknowledging their wrongs, and leaving them behind.

Tell her, “I might be able to help you out financially if Congress passes the tax cuts that are expiring this year. If they raise my taxes, I just won’t be able to afford to help you. Sorry.”

Keep in mind, she graduated college, FSU, in 2022 so we have been giving her financial assistance since she graduated. We continued to carry insurance, both automotive and health, and we were sliding her about $500.00/ month to help her pay her bills. She moved to Boston right after graduation and it's expensive to live there. She sends me the email, and I respond with some directives like, she has 30 days to get the car she's driving in her name and her own insurance. As well, I cut off the gravy train.

Biting the hand that feeds her. Bold strategy on her part

But if she thinks she can manipulate you in her hour of need for more assistance, it’s no sweat to her. She thinks she can tell you off and you won’t let her starve .

May have to show some tough love very soon

She hasn't yet asked my wife for money, she'd never ask me, but it's coming, and it's gonna suck for her when I tell her no. She's my kid so I don't think I could ever let her completely crash and burn, but it will literally have to be a life or death situation for me to send her more money. I love her, but I don't like what she's become.

Feminism and liberalism have poisoned these women. Mostly while in college. They have been convinced they don’t need men for anything. Let her figure it out the hard way why you are so very important to your family.

Nope, love includes allowing children to face consequences. Foolish is the parent who tries to shelter their child from consequences of their own actions. There is a balance to it of course, but you are always teaching your children.

This for sure. But the only way she snaps out of it is for the backhand of reality to smack the hell out of her.

It’d easy to be “principled” etc on somebody else dime. When you have no cares in the world it’s super easy to be some lefty bleeding heart. she’s been sheltered from anything in life that was hard.

Wait till that grind of life gets her. When she’s got mouths to feed, bills to pay and responsibilities. Who the hell has time to worry about BS when you have to figure out how you’re going to make your house note and get groceries. Real life has a way of hardening you the frick up.

I’ve got 2 kids that my wife says lean left. We don’t discuss politics though I’m very sure my kids know exactly where I stand on things.

If one of mine said “we’re done because you voted for Trump” my response would be simply

“I thought I taught you how to think, not let someone else tell you how to. When you remember that, if I’m still alive I’ll be here” (I’m old, so no guarantees)

Other than birthday presents and Christmas presents I wouldn’t send them a dime till they asked me face to face for it and gave me a reason I should.

Being right and being a father can be the same. He stops funding a college graduates lifestyle and she realizes she has to work for her own life, these fricking progressives aren't going to pay her rent, utility bills, car note and provide food to her at least at the level she is accustomed to because she supports their dumb arse immigration policies, sing stupid arse songs on federal grounds about Trump and Elon that make no fricking sense because they were originally slave songs. Vote for crooks like Pocahontas who makes under 200k a year but has a networth of 12 million.

Better for her to start figuring it out while daddy is still alive and can help her when she finally gets it

Notice how you rarely hear of conservative kids rejecting their families who believe differently. It always seems to be liberal kids rejecting their moderate/conservative ones.

My son used to laugh with me in 2016 at Trump's nicknames and we bonded over it. By 2020 and now in high school, he withdrew from the family (figuratively) and made us miserable his last two years before going to college. It's time we will never get back.

All his HS friend group were libs and last year, when he did reach out to me, it was to send an email about "America is bad" and other such leftist BS. We can all be in each others company and it's cordial enough, but this kid was the greatest and now he'd probably be OK seeing us once a year.

The left breaks up families, spreads misery, and is rooted in lies and deception. OP, I sympathize. I truly do. It bothers me every day.

Also, for your own protection, you’d better keep up her car insurance until you are damned sure that the car is out of your name, the risk is to great to do anything else

OP could also ammend his email wrt the car. Give daughter 3 options to choose from within30 days,
1) Daughter to place car in her name as a gift. OP should offer any help to expedite the matter.
2) Return the car and keys to OP and go on about her business.
3) On the 31st day OP will report the car stolen.

A truly responsible person would easily choose 1 or 2. A child that needs growth would let it get to the 3rd option. Needless to say, OP keeps additional 30 days of liability.

Best thing to do in that situation is move him to another school asap.

Cut off his phone and those fake friends while he's still yours.
