fricking diesel hits $10 a gallon in California and is still rising

Of course, a bunch of pumps only go to $9.99 so you have that. I know California deserves it , and I agree but a ton of our food comes from ape shite crazy California. This is going to spike food prices by thanksgiving for sure.
As interstate truckers are starting to say frick this shite it is going to get worse. Buy those turkeys and shite soon and throw in the freezer since hurricane season is almost over.

Who should I blame, chevron or the gov. newscum of California? Or maybe Russia or Ukraine for blowing up Russian refineries. Or Iran or the previous presidents that did nothing about it?

I know a guy who has a business in the north east and it uses trucks that run on diesel. He has multiple trucks and they are usually pretty busy.
Commercial trucks.
He said today diesel is $6.50 there and he just currently has to eat the extra costs. He's considering adding a surcharge for every delivery for the first time ever as a result.

California and Europe began trying to achieve net zero 2 decades ago. Both shuttered a big chunk of refining capacity. Europe outsourced refining to Russia. Now they are phucked

Whats he doing with his current fuel surcharge? It’s .81 cents per mile at the moment for truckload.
.81 on 500 Miles = $405.0
500 miles / 7 MPG = 71.42 Gallons
71.42 x 6.25 National Average = $446.42
So add to your line hail rate to make up the $42 you’re short. It’s .08 per mile more on a $500 mile run.
Tender rejections are at historical highs which means capacity is tight.
That means higher line haul rates.
The only people not making money in this market are stupid people.
I have brokered through these types of markets at the truck dictates the price majority of the time.

He's not a truck driver, he owns a company and their delivery trucks use diesel.

Since pumps usually have 4 number spaces, couldn’t the decimal point move over to stop showing prices in a 9/10ths of a cent.
Or start selling diesel in Liters. 1 gallon is 3.7 liters. It fixes the 9.999 issue by lowering the price by a dividing a gallon by 3.7, but you are buying 3.7 times more in the number of liters. It comes out to the same price and volume.

There is a .59 fuel surcharge per mile now. With trucks models now getting 5-6 mpg that’s upwards to 3.60 per gallon with rates being in northeast at or above 4-5 dollars per mile or more depending if it’s short haul or regional, sometimes greater plus tolls.

Same here, I know a guy that runs food grade tanker trucks out of the Midwest primarily for dairies. They run a lot of cream, chocolate, peanut oil, and other food grade liquids.
Their trucks are constantly on the move currently yes there’s been a per mileage adjustment to the fee, but he’s making bank.
