I call this the Teddy Bear Syndrome. Adults who need comfort animals are like children who drag around a stuffed toy or blanky for emotional security. Something is bad wrong with adults who do this.
This. We live in greatest, richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world. Our poor people live like the rest of the world's upper middle class. We have food, security, health care, legal protections and toys the rest of the planet dreams of. Yet we have grown arse adults that simply can't cope with the horrors of American life and a comfort animal to drag around to feel better.
Go live in Gambia for six months and watch your anxiety disappear when you return to the US.

Our poor suffer from eating too much food, and cry for less legal protection on their streets

This will be the ONLY time I will agree with you.
The service dog concept has gotten completely out of control, as so many other things have. It's time to use common sense again!

I agree with you with both (to an extent).

That duck owns, I would pay extra to sit next to that duck

Some see a duck.
Some see a companion.
I see a meal.
Some see a companion.
I see a meal.

Count your blessings. I just watched an episode of 'My 600 pound life'. She's 5-3, 610 lbs. and is trying to get on a plane to Houston to see Dr. Now for weight loss surgery. It takes 4 attendants to try and get her and her scooty poof through the door of the plane. She's crying and screaming about the pain the whole time. She finally gets into a seat (I guess they just took the arm rests off 3 seats) and she has a panic attack and demands to be rushed to the hospital. Flight attendants don't get paid enough for that shite.
Take her out of the plane and shoot her

The whole "taking your pet anywhere and everywhere" thing overall has gotten out of hand.
Was in California this summer, people bringing dogs everywhere-- hotels, restaurants, malls and somewhat upscale stores.... There was a pic on social media last week about some happy dog (who looked more like a possum) going to Target and riding in a cart for the first time-- I don't want the cart that dog was in! Gross!
It's like my sister said: if people need to bring a "therapy pet" on a plane or a public place, they might as well wear a T-shirt saying, "I have mental health issues and am messed up in the head"
And all these people referring to their pets as "fur babies" "their kids", etc.-- get a life.

I agree. Not just airplanes but anywhere. They are animals.

This is the type of thing championed by Leftists and SJWs.
Meh, you should be able to choose. If you want to fly Bumfrickegypt Airlines...
...that should be your choice.
And it you want to fly animal-free airlines...
...you should be free to choose that as well.
Let the market take care of it, I really couldn't care less. More and more these days I'm flying general aviation anyway.
But the fact remains that I would rather fly next to a pig with a spastic colon over some human beings.
