I don't mind Musk weighing in because it's obvious from before the election he would be a significant influence on Trump
But the past weeks are very concerning. A government contractor having direct meetings with heads of states and businesses leaders in the President-elects home?
Why is he on the phone with a Head of State while Trump is speaking?
While his advisers that he directly hires has prominent influence of departments he doesn't even head.
Now he's threatening to primary his own new party and have another Speaker fiasco when the Republicans have only a 5 seat advantage

Totally understand your point. I can’t say for sure Gates has but most of the pork put in by reps are likely items from ppl like Gates or musk or lobbyists or donors. I also haven’t read the full bill or any of it. but a CR should ultimately be a basic few page bill to assign another day with funding approval up to that point.

If they put a stipulation to not receive lobby money I'd be slightly ok with the raise. Motives matter and this bill looks like crap. I wish Johnson would talk about why he resorted to this stuff. I'm curious if other things that pale in comparison were being discussed. Don't say it had to be passed just say why you resorted to this. Playing the fence makes you a shill.
